People on this planet are earthlings and individuals. Sure, a Japanese immigrant here and there could have been planning to do something against the USA, but why should the majority of them, who were Americans well above the island their ancestors lived, had their homes and everything else taken from them, and be sent to prison like places to live? That is not like the usual, and a few family members voluntarily enlisting and going to fight the war, but that is whole families being taken from home involuntarily, and expected to be fine with losing everything they could not carry.
I am not talking about political correctness, but am talking about being humane to fellow Americans. My life has been changed forever and very much by the negligence of a local government, so I know what it feels like to be an individual the government runs over, and it is not very good.

People are too soon to forget or ignorant to realize that not only were we faced with the problem of having so many Japanese on our home soil, but we also had Japanese invaders in the Aleutian Islands where they could easily have made kamikaze attacks on the US. And if anyone believes that a "few" might have made war against us, it would only take a "few" to do terrible damage to a country that was still reeling from the effects of the terrible damage that they did to us at Pearl Harbor.

I don't believe we should have ignored this cowardly act that Japan committee against us. But I guess I might be a little influenced in my thinking because I had 4 brothers that fought in this terrible action, with my oldest brother being killed in Italy. The brother that was killed in Italy was a member Of The First Special Service Force, a clandestine Commando outfit made up of both Canadian and American soldiers. They were sent to the Aleutians to take the Island back but the Japanese evidently were warned and fled in the dark of night, leaving much equipment and arms. His outfit was then sent to Italy to bolster the Fifth Army there. The movie, "The Devil's Brigade" was made in honor of this tough Commando outfit.

I am not saying anything negative about any military action against the axis powers of WWII. And after reading the book "Unbroken", as well as Pearl Harbor itself, I would say especially the Japanese. But, I see those who came to the Land of the Free before Pearl Harbor as immigrants who were Americans (and after WWII, for that matter). Pearl Harbor was an attack on all Americans, including those Americans, who had ancestors from Japan. That is why some of them dressed in U.S. Army, Air Force, or Marine uniforms and fought for us against the Axis. I guess I am saying something based on "innocent until proven guilty" principal.
If you see what the government did to the Americans, who came from Japan, as ok, do you wish the same was done to had German or Italian in their blood?
And I am sorry the Axis powers took a brother of yours from this world. But, as I'm sure you know, it was a war that had to be fought. We are all thankful to the soldiers, especially the soldiers who did not return, like you brother, and the families of the soldiers who did not return, like yourself, for giving so much to help end the wrong and the evil the Axis powers were doing. That you Carolyn, although I disagree with you about the treatment of the Japanese immigrants, I do understand your perspective and know I am lucky to not suffer a loss, as your brother and family.

People have forgotten it seems, how the Japanese treated American civilians in concentration camps during WWII. Bataan death march-ring a bell? Civilians and military from America, Phillipines, Australia and other country's walked for miles and were killed, shot, bayoneted, beat, be-headed,starved and left on the side of the road to die in the name of the Emperor. My Grandfather was one of the few survivors of this.
This is only one example of the horrific injustices by the Imperial forces of Japan during WWII. My question is-could this atrocity happen again? It has(Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Congo, Serbia, and the list goes on. And now we see things in America that are the precursor to this here. The Government forcing people to buy medical insurance they can't afford or don't want. The government squashing religious freedom, gun registry, the gun confiscation at some time, Out of control Senate and President ignoring the Constitution, spying on the masses, and the list just continues to grow. Whats next? Public floggings, beheadinds, hangings all in the name of progress(Progressiveness)?
So you see, America is no different than any other country in the world, except in that we tend to analyze things to our own way of acceptance. If American people lose our Constitution and Bill of Rights, we lose America!

All I am saying is that at the time, we could not take any chances that there might be ANY Japanese sympathizers in this country. With their relatives in control of the Aleutians, and their history of dying for their Emperor "The Kamikaze," and after seeing what they did to our Navy at Pearl Harbor AND Army at Schofield Barracks, plus our Air Force at Wheeler Air Base, we could simply not take any chances at all with these people.

Wasn't it enough that the Armchair General George Marshall connived a plan to rebuild every nation that we conquered during WW11? Don't you think that was the reason we fell behind in the world manufacturing trade? We still had to work with the same old outdated factories when these nations had all new state-of-the-art factories built by the U.S. under the great Marshall Plan.

Think about it!

Carolyn, You are confusing Americans who are citizens of the U.S. born and raised here and we put them in concentration camps. If a an American's ancestors happened to be Italian or Berman, we didn't put them in camps. What do you suppose the difference was?

This is the reason I believe we MUST bring back the full and accurate account of both American and World History into our schools. The powers to be have all but eliminated them so as to dumb-down the younger generation, and what little history they still teach is a watered down version that any history teacher of the 1940's and 1950's would not even recognize as a history lesson. I believe that is one reason that the younger generation is so easily led to Communism and Socialism. They simply don't know how these regimes have failed countless times in other countries, but are still taught as the governments of the future to our young children who will believe anything their teacher tells them.

But I am not confusing the Muslims that believe in murdering infidels for their Allah. I am not confusing the Terrorists that came here as model citizens, took flying lessons in Florida, and then flew planes into the World Trades Center, killing thousands of innocent American citizens, am I? The acts against the Japanese during WW11 was a precaution that we should have taken against these ragheads that cost this country so much in money and lives. But what is happening now? We are still allowing them entry into our country where they can do the very same thing at any future date of their choosing.

It seems that our government had much more common sense 70 years ago than they have now. Either that, or all this Love Thy Muslim BS is just a continuation of the plan they started on 9-11 with the blessing of our screwed up government. But what will they plan next? That is the big question.

How History is Taught in School

http://larrycuban.wordpress.com/2010/07/21/how-history-is-taught-in-schools/

History teachers try hard not to bend the past to fit the present by offering policy recommendations or lessons to be learned. History is an interpretation of the past, not a fax that yesterday, was wired to the present.
