Thanks for the comment, but nothing anyone can say can convince these pompous windbags of anything. It is interesting to see what the rabble believes, however.

What evidence do you have that proves Obama a communist ?

I bet you're just stamping your feet on the floor like Rumplestiltskin over what you undoubtedly feel was Boehner's sell-out:

Read the fu*kin' book "Barack Obama and the Enemies within" by Trevor Louden and you'll have your answer. His friends and mentors were Communists when he was in college. He advocated Communism when he was in college. You ignorant leftists throw out these stupid comments and questions, but you're not interested in the true answers, nor do you want to do any research into the truth. No, you just want Kool-Aid bullsh*t answers. Debating with you morons is like spitting into the wind. Go have some more of that Obama Kool-Aid.

As a professional pilot I see things through my specific view point. When the Pres goes somewhere he carries a bubble about 2800 sq miles around him within which a private airplane cannot fly or else the pilot is forced to land and will most likely lose his pilot certificate and his job.

Flight schools within that 2800 sqare mile area have to shut down while he is enjoying his vacation. Again people lose their livelihood and businesses are in danger of bankruptcy. Flight companies that offer scenic flights, very popular in Hawaii, are forced to severely curtail or cancel those too.

The public loses, the businesses lose, the country loses.

He is not the only President to do this, but from what I can see he genuinely does not give a damn.

The irony is that a small airplane is no risk to a person on the ground and this is all about Power, as usual. I am not aware of any other countries' leader who is so mortally afraid of his subjects.

knowing a bit about flying myself, I find your post fife with BS. When the president is aboard AF1 and the plane is in flight, there is a 2000 foot vertical and a 5 mile lateral zone around the aircraft. Prior to him landing at his destination, there is a 1 hour sterilization of takeoffs and landings at the airport. After the president lands and has left the airport for his final destination, there are no takeoff or landing restrictions at that airport. When the president is ready to depart, the 1 hour takeoff and landing restrictions are again put into place.

While the president is on the ground and at his destination, there is a 5 mile no fly zone around the sight, be it a house, a hotel, or whatever. These no fly zones are published in advance, so all flyers know when they are in effect and where they can and cannot fly

Based on your post, I doubt that you are a pilot, and if so, I hope i'm not in the air and in your vicinity when you're at the helm.

A 2800 mile no fly zone? That's coast to coast.

I would assume that knowing something about aviation means you watched "Airplane" twice?

Please read the following description of a VIP TFR. And there is a difference between a mile and a square mile, Sir.

The 30 mile ring is equivalent to 2800 sq miles and the 10 mile ring is about 315 sq miles.

TFRs are also issued for other purposes and the area, altitude restrictions and so on are different. Maybe you are thinking of a non-VIP TFR.

I like your description of my professionalism. If I was to ignore the rules and press on regardless, I would therefore assume you would fly with me?

BTW, what is a fife, as it pertains to BS? Can I assume you are an expert on BS, or fifes?

Info on the effect of TFRs on aviation:
http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/non_aviation/read.main/2194764/
http://www.riehlworldview.com/2010/03/after-obama-vacation-hawaii-businesses-seek-200k-in-damages.html

VIP TFRs
There are two basic types of VIP TFRs:

1.Presidential, reserved for use in association with Presidential movement,
2.Vice-Presidential, used for Vice Presidential movement or movement by other lower-ranking government officials.
These TFRs are governed by FAR 91.141 and are generally not made available to the public until two or three days before the event.

VIP TFRs are normally set up as one or more rings of airspace, surrounding the VIP, which become active for a specific amount of time. The normal arrangement is to have one ring covering the VIP’s arrival and departure location(s) and another covering the area where the VIP will be between arrival and departure. While these rings are stationary, there are occasions where “rolling” TFRs are created to accommodate a moving event (such as one involving a train or bus).

Presidential VIP TFRs
In the case of Presidential movement, the TFR is usually comprised of an outer ring (usually 30 nautical miles, but sometimes slightly more or less) and one or more inner rings (usually 10 nautical miles, but sometimes 8, 9, or 10 nautical miles). The dimensions and, even the shape, of the rings are sometimes altered to suit specific needs. For example, some TFRs are structured so that the outer ring consists of the lateral limits of a particular airport’s Class B airspace, or are created with cut-outs, as noted later in this resource.

The inner ring(s) constitute the most significant challenge to general and business aviation, since they are almost always inaccessible to general aviation aircraft. This is primarily due to the fact that general aviation aircraft are not subject to TSA passenger and aircraft screening.

The result is that GA aircraft cannot fly through these areas below 18,000 feet and any airports within these areas are unavailable to GA aircraft during the specified times. In addition, these “no fly” areas may result in required reroutes being issued to move aircraft away from them.

There are occasional exceptions that will allow certain GA aircraft to penetrate the inner ring(s). In some cases, the USSS will agree to set up “gateway” airports, at which GA aircraft can be screened before proceeding into the TFR. In other cases, GA aircraft are permitted into the inner ring(s) only after obtaining TSA waivers, sometime used in combination with gateway airports. However, these exceptions are relatively rare and are normally made for TFRs that impact multiple airports for several days.

On other occasions, a TFR might be structured with a “cut-out” to allow operations into an airport that lies just inside the inner ring. This happens quite often for Teterboro Airport (TEB) when TFRs are placed over the New York City area. In these cases operators need to be aware that certain approaches and departures may not be available for the airport in the cut-out.

The outer ring(s) are much less problematic for general and business aviation. Between this outer limit and the inner ring(s), GA aircraft are permitted as long as they are on IFR flight plans and in communication with air traffic control. However, aircraft cannot loiter in this airspace and certain other types of activities, such as flight training, practice approaches, and sightseeing flights, are not permitted within this area.

Vice-Presidential VIP TFRs
In the case of Vice Presidential movement, TFRs normally consist of one or more 3 nautical mile rings and no outer ring. These TFRs are less restrictive for GA aircraft, allowing access to aircraft that are on IFR flight plans and in communication with ATC – restrictions very similar to those in the outer rings discussed above.

However, when an airport is contained within a Vice-Presidential TFR, airport operations are typically halted for a short period of time while the VIP is at the airport or is departing or arriving. As a result, operators flying into an airport sitting under a 3 nautical mile ring can expect minor delays during the TFR’s active times.

Never watched the movie, but I take it you did.
If your calculations that a 30 NM radius equals 2800 square miles, then i'm still not impressed with your flying knowledge. Trying to figure out how you came up with 2800, I multiplied 30X30X30 and added 1. Why did I add an additional 30 plus 1? Just to make my numbers match. Also, if that was your point, why not say 30 NM radius (which is also wrong) instead of 2800 SM? Oh, I know...you wanted to provide the worse case number to add additional negative effect to your post. BTW 30X30 equals 900 SM.

If there are no differences in the normal process of providing protection and security for any US president or vice president, then why would you single out President Obama and infer that he, and he alone, doesn't give a damn about interruptions in the community? Oh, I know...he's different and deserves to be singled out.

I noticed that in your link to the president's 2010 visit to Hawaii, the complaining company names were not published. I wonder why? Additionally, NOTAMs affecting presidential travel are not normally sent out until two or three days before the travel, so sight seeing companies have to be flexible in their scheduling. However, I feel that you would side with the sightseelng company and require this president to give them more advance notice......but only for this president. I wonder why?

BTW, the word should have been "rife", as in full of it...just like your post.
