TeaPartyRon, being president of the United States is probably the toughest job in the world. You want to deny the president a vacation, even though he will undoubtedly be dev****g a great deal of that time to working ? Did you complain when W kept taking vacations ? I bet not. I must hunt up the statistics, but W took more days of vacation, if I remember correctly, than any other president in recent history.

Bush did his vacations at his ranch, and his vacations were working vacations. Bush hosted world leaders at his ranch, and the expense of his vacations were a lot less. Bush also quit playing golf because he didn't think it was right for him to play golf while we were fighting two wars. Bush also did not send his wife and daughters on expensive vacations abroad, like the Obama's have. Nor, did Bush send his daughter off to Mexico during spring break, at taxpayers expense. The Obama's are elitists, and they think they should be treated like royalty. Hell, Obama is naturally lazy and doesn't show up for work until around 9:30 in the morning, and he spends more time on the golf course than he does in the oval office. In other words, he is a joke.

I suspect that what you are trying to state as "fact"
is, in most cases, untrue. Obama is perfectly e titled to send his family off on expensive vacations, just as you are. The taxpayers did not pay for his family's vacations. Bush's giving up golf while we were fighting two wars was strictly a calculated political maneuver made to make him seem sensitive and caring, which he wasn't and isn't. Bush took far, far more days of vacations than Obama has. And Obama's vacations are just as much "working vacations" as Bush's were, and probably a lot more. Where is your information coming from ?

Wherein it is true that the job of a president is difficult and a break from it is good, except when the vice is also inept. There are few that would say that a family should not vacation. But, in 2010 - 2011, Ms. Obama did rack up quite a bill for herself and their children. Take for example:

GIRLS' TRIP TO SPAIN: AUGUST 2010
The exact cost is unclear as Mrs Obama and her 40 friends footed many personal expenses, such as hotels and meals themselves.

But the U.S. taxpayer would have paid for the First Lady's 68-strong security detail, personal staff, and use of p**********l jet Air Force Two.

Per diems for the secret service team runs at around $281 each - nearly $98,000 for the length of the summer break.

Use of Air Force Two, the Air Force version of a 757, comes in at $149,900 for the round trip. This does not include time on the ground.

Mrs Obama's personal staff, of which there are an unknown amount and might cost considerably more per day, should also be taken into account.

CHRISTMAS BREAK IN HAWAII: DECEMBER 2010

According to the Hawaii Reporter, the bill for the $1.5m trip included:

$63,000 on an early flight bringing Mrs Obama and the children to Hawaii ahead of the President.

$10,000 for an ambulance to be on hand at all times

Mrs Obama and her daughters stayed at the Sebastian hotel on Vail Mountain, where rooms cost more than $2,400 for multi-bedroom suites.
