Does news bother her, 9 AM to 8 PM or is it 8 PM to midnight? From 8 PM on it's mostly opinion but regular news from most stations other than what the others decide to skip right over, now that bugs me.

Her TV is on Fox pretty much 24/7 except on days she gets out to collect rent, pick up change at our coin-op Laundry or goes to church. She took a trip to Holland to see some relatives last month, seem to calm her down. Now that she’s back watching Fox, she’s getting all worked up again.

There's something wrong with this picture. It's hard to believe your mother has developed these angry feelings only as a result of watching FOX News. How did she feel about liberals before? Surely she must have been aware of what was going on in the country even before watching Fox. Wasn't she angry about things then? I'm not trying to cast any aspersions about your mother here, but perhaps she might have a medical condition which is contributing to this anger and may want to get a checkup. But of course you'd be the best judge of that.

That's a bit much! I understand exactly how someone who feeds themselves a steady diet of Fox News can get riled up to the point of irrational fear and anger. They do it deliberately! I've known a few older people like her myself. The only "fair and balanced" show I've seen on Fox is Chris Wallace on Sunday mornings. Otherwise, they're all either rabble-rousers (gets ratings) or the tone of their reporting just oozes hatred for Obama. Can anybody watch Sean Hannity - and believe his drivel - without coming away feeling negative about Obama? No!

Perhaps this lady should intersperse some other channels in her tv viewing habits. Or better yet: stay the hell away from Faux News! (And remember, even Fox News said in court when they were sued that they are an entertainment network, not a news network.)

Sean Hannity is not news he's opinion. So switch to MSNBC where it's opinion passed off as news.

I don’t know. My mom had an annual doctor’s checkup and all seems normal. My mother has a circle of retired friends who encourage her anger. Her friends talk about how nice it would be if our President’s was killed or put in prison. Her friends also feel only Fox tells the truth and encourages her to only believe what she hears on Fox. So she doesn’t see other news. Her friends are of similar age, religious believe, education and wealth. Maybe they do not get as worked up as my mom, but they are pretty angry when they talk about politics and that happens a lot

since most of the programs on fox have both sides of the story are you sure which side is agitating her, the only one that doesn't is the news and that is Sheppard Smith and he is a democrat if you libs would stop repeating what the huff&puff tells you and watch a few fox programs you might then have a leg to stand on other wise you are only repeating lies

I don't know where you find the fox station you describe but its not the one on my tv so maybe you should recheck the station call letters, I watch the national station not the local fox station

LOL. Funny you should mention the football thing. A friend and I joke about how Fox and MSNBC seem to bring out a kind fan rivalry not much different than Football or some other professional athletic team.

A regular doctor has tests for any type of anger management? Thinking her age is over 60 and anger keeps the blood flowing, maybe your mother sees things you don't, am sure she was brought up in a different world than you were.

Most of the programs on FOX do NOT have both sides of the story! I've given plenty of them a fair shot. They put token liberals on some shows but then shout them down or don't even give them enough time to talk. FAIR AND BALANCED = Bullshit!

At least, FOX has liberals on! CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC etc. crucify conservatives IN ABSENTIA! They don't even have a chance to be shouted down. Do you call that fair and balanced?
