I guess that before I just give up & move on I would like to see if there is any thing here that both side can agree on.

If there is nothing we can agree on there is little point of rehashing the same old issues.

No! Liberals and RINOs have had their way far too long. We don't want any more transferring of wealth. We don't want any more communist laws. You" agreed on" middle of the road people, Repubs and Demos, are in collusion to destroy this country. You have done nothing good for the past 70 yrs.

There are some things that keep us from understanding one another and we have the power to do something about them if we were to know what they are and choose to do so. Perhaps the greatest obstacle to communication is the confirmation bias. If you don't understand it, look it up on Wikipedia. If it makes sense to you, begin to be aware of its negative effects in our attempts at communication in you and those with whom you agree. Making useful communication possible begins with us and ours, not them and theirs. For those who are open to it, I suggest the book, The Art of Thinking clearly by Rolf Dobelli.

Then we can agree on that. Dems and repubs have driven this country to the brink. Let's also agree to dump them in 2014 & 2016. Simple.

Well, on behalf of all "middle of the road people" I object. Are you about to suggest that anarchy is our next best plan or, at the risk of falling out of the middle of the road" to suggest you "might" be thinking such a thing, might you be implying that all middle of the roaders should be stood up against a wall and shot for treason? Just wondering.

Well, my list of must reads has just increased by your suggestion. Mind you, just my opinion, but it's imperative that we not give up connecting, finding common ground.

I would like to think that what you have to say should be a topic.

I would think that you would be better on that issue than me.

Okay, see, don't give up. It is tiring to rehash stuff ad nauseum, wondering why, when you say "see, it's an apple" and the reply back is "no, it's a giraffe". There are those people, let's face it, that if the sky was as dark as night and it was raining to beat the band, that would tell you "no, the sun is shining". However, I would like to think there are enough people out there and I have heard it on OPP that will say "oh, I hadn't thought about it that way" and at least acknowledge that the writer has given them something to consider.

Well I guess that if every one thinks that I should move on that is what I should do.

I may move or I may stay.

But I am not going to spend the money needed to move on up to the East side.

I don't believe anyone said that. I'm sure there are some who HOPE that, but that's their problem. I'm with you on the constant rephrasing of the same tired rhetoric. Some people are not worth conversing with due to that. I say what I want to say but I don't try to convince anyone. It's not worth it, I move on. But that's me.

Deep down I think that I think much like many others here & that I have a softer way that I say things.
