Well, on behalf of all "middle of the road people" I object. Are you about to suggest that anarchy is our next best plan or, at the risk of falling out of the middle of the road" to suggest you "might" be thinking such a thing, might you be implying that all middle of the roaders should be stood up against a wall and shot for treason? Just wondering.

if you play in the middle of the road you are likely to get run over

Okay, see, don't give up. It is tiring to rehash stuff ad nauseum, wondering why, when you say "see, it's an apple" and the reply back is "no, it's a giraffe". There are those people, let's face it, that if the sky was as dark as night and it was raining to beat the band, that would tell you "no, the sun is shining". However, I would like to think there are enough people out there and I have heard it on OPP that will say "oh, I hadn't thought about it that way" and at least acknowledge that the writer has given them something to consider.
Okay, see, don't give up. It is tiring to rehash ... (show quote)

the sun is always shining you just can't see it because of the clouds in front of your eyes

You may be run over by big money even if you a on the side of the road.

If you are in the middle of the road a middle road person will usual give you time to adjust to the situation.

Like you, Searching, I don't want to see FloydBrown or anyone give up. Reasonable people like Floyd are what keeps hope alive, not the wingnuts from either side. :hunf:

 That's what makes you worth listening to, Floyd!
I can't hear people as well when they yell at me.

One is only a nut, wing or otherwise, if they believe they are.

You seem okay, as a rule, by me!

My grandchildren think I am "nutty"...or, "goofy".

Until they want ice cream. Then, I'm okay, by them.

 Simple, indeed, if everyone v**es!

That has always been my contention: V**E!

I agree totally. You are a sane and rational voice in the wilderness.

This is difficult to understand. If Democrats and Republicans are the problem, that appears to mean that these people are the problem and we should get rid of them. The only problem is that together, the Republicans and Democrats make up abut 95% of Americans and they were put in office by 95% of the v**ers. The problem is that we assume none of the responsibility; we blame everyone else. Until we are able to individually take responsibility and continue to blame everyone else, it isn't going to get any better. It will probably continue to get worse. We are the problem. The first step we could take to make America what it could be is to acknowledge two things: (1) We are all biased -without exception and that includes you and me. (2) we are not consciously aware of most of our biases and can become aware of them only with considerable courage and persistence. I think I am saying that I am tired of whiners who blame everyone but themselves for our problems.

What do you think the differences are?
