"...or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution,"...
This allowed those who were not, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, natural born but who were nevertheless citizens, to be President. But from that time on, only natural born citizens could do so.
Your amended presentation, in omitting the final part of the sentence, would lead someone to believe that a Citizen could become President even if he/she was not natural born. The only time that was true was on the date of the proclamation of the original document. You are (Perhaps) deliberately subverting the meaning of the language used in writing the Constitution. How can I make it simpler than that for you?
There have been attempts to amend the Constitution to allow other than natural born citizens to be President, but none of those attempts have worked and the Constitution remains as it was written. I would ask you why those attempts were made (one of those was by Hillary, supported by Obama) if it was truly possible for a non-natural born citizen to be eligible? If you look at the law, you cannot but be convinced that it is clear and well-understood. And that it is what the founders wanted. If you don't like it, start a campaign to have the Constitution changed (you never know, this time it might happen).
A person born outside the US, if he had US citizen parent(s), would be a citizen by naturalization but not native born or natural born. Such naturalization is provided by the law and is automatic but is not citizenship by birth. It is given by descent from the citizen parent(s) and is therefore naturalization in that it needs a law to make it so. To be natural born he/she would have to be native born in the US of two US citizen parents. Obama, for example, is not natural born. If he was born in Kenya he would, at best, be naturalized as a US citizen, but as per the law of the time, his mom was not qualified to pass on her US citizenship so he would in fact have been a British citizen at birth and not qualified to be a US citizen. If he was born in Hawaii, as he claims, he would be a native born US citizen. However, his father was not a US citizen at the time of his birth (and was not married to his mom, but that is not critical) so he cannot claim natural born status even then. Cruz was born in Canada, of an American mom, so could claim US citizenship by descent/naturalization, but his dad was not a US citizen at the time so he was not natural born either. Like Obama, he was a dual citizen and therefore had dual allegiance which was what the founders so rightly feared.
My wife is American and her children, all born outside the US, are citizens of the US by descent. They have certification issued at birth by the local consulate stating that, so they are qualified and entitled in all respects exactly the same as a person born in the US except that they cannot be President or Vice President. Their father (me) was not a US citizen at the time of their birth for one, and their citizenship is by naturalization, not native born. They are not native or natural born, by simple definition and by law.
You might not like it, and might have other desires, but unfortunately for you, the law is the law. People might get away with breaking the law, as Obama has done for 7 years, but eventually it will catch up with them.
I find it extremely funny that when it was Obama breaking the law, those who called for fixing the problem were called "birthers" but now that it is Cruz, nobody accuses those who point out his lack of qualifications as being the same.
Because the laws have been assaulted for so long now by the Democrats to their own advantage, it is highly unlikely that anything will be done about this one, and we will be ruled by unqualified imposters of both parties with no consequences. Just another sign of how low this once great country has sunk and an indication of where we will end up, as every great civilization has, when they turn their backs on morality and the law.
And on the very language itself.
