I find myself in agreement with Rabbi Jack Moline, executive director of the Interfaith Alliance in Washington. Rabbi Moline was quoted as saying: "This so called "Muslim Art Exhibit" where the shooting took place is an event deserving of criticism even without the violence.

I feel Pamela Geller, the organizer of the Muhammad Cartoon Contest got exactly what she wanted from this event, self promotion. She organized this event for one purpose and one purpose only. She wanted international attention and she was willing to gamble with the lives of the people of Garland to achieve her goal.

Most people never heard of Ms Geller before this event. Now she has face time on numerous TV shows as well as articles about herself in the New York Times and many other papers. Way to go Pamela. You only endangered the lives of the people of Garland but hey your self promotion payed off.

This event was not about freedom of speech. This was simply about international attention for a narcissist. She played to the anger many feel toward what they perceive as special rights for the Islamic people. I am sure the security guard who was wounded was happy to assist Ms Geller in becoming famous.

Many of the people in my circle feel the city of Garland was stupid to grant the permit. However, if they had not granted the permit, the ACLU or some other organization would have sued them. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

I read a great deal about the police departments in this country. How do you think the Garland Police felt when this event was announced? I am sure they were not happy. In essence we were asking them to provide security against what could have been an all out attack, for a publicity stunt. Who would have been blamed had bombs gone off? Not the private security people, it would have been the police who took the hit. Not Ms Geller of course. She was only exercising her right to free speech.

If this is not yelling fire in a crowded theater, I don't know what is. If I were a citizen of Garland, I would demand her immediate arrest for putting my children in danger. This was a reckless, wanton act. In a perfect world, nothing would have happened. We do not live in a perfect world. Ms Garland knew what would happen. She was counting on it.

I say stop giving this woman publicity.
I find myself in agreement with Rabbi Jack Moline,... (show quote)

So in other words, if I become a homosexual-killing christian terrorist who attacks gay rights rallies, then, anyone who stands up and opposes my beliefs is just grandstanding?????
