You only keep referencing scripture as if the bible you believe in is some kind of authority over all others and accepted by mankind as so. It is not so. If someone says your book is baloney , debating by using quotes from that book is senseless. You are trapped in a world that considers nothing or no one else, just your narrow view. You are indoctrinated to the point of believing more in what is very questionable over that which is very obvious. Still God is not on the news this morning broadcasting his truth , but Matt Lauer is on the news , reporting current events. If I thought Matt was made up and not real I could go and try to meet him and at the very least could see him with my own two eyes and at best shake his hand and converse , face to face , no imagination required. Spirituality is valuable as long as it does not take the place of reality.

Still this fake blue sky you speak of is not on the news this morning, but Matt Lauer is on the news , reporting current events. If I thought Matt was made up and not real I could go and try to meet him and at the very least could see him with my own two eyes and at best shake his hand and converse , face to face , no eyesight required. But, I cannot touch or shake the hand of a blue sky therefore it is green. Eyesight is valuable as long as it does not take the place of reality.

The sky (or celestial dome) is everything that lies above the surface of the Earth, including the atmosphere and outer space.

In the field of astronomy, the sky is also called the celestial sphere. This is viewed from Earth's surface as an imaginary dome where the sun, stars, planets, and the moon are seen to be traveling. The celestial sphere is conventionally divided into regions called constellations. Usually, the term sky is used informally as the point of view from the Earth's surface; however, the meaning and usage can vary. In some cases, such as in discussing the weather, the sky refers to only the lower, more dense portions of the atmosphere.

During daylight, the sky appears to be blue because air scatters blue sunlight more than it scatters red.[1][2][3][4] At night, the sky appears to be a mostly dark surface or region scattered with stars. During the day, the Sun can be seen in the sky unless obscured by clouds. In the night sky (and to some extent during the day) the moon, planets and stars are visible in the sky. Some of the natural phenomena seen in the sky are clouds, rainbows, and aurorae. Lightning and precipitation can also be seen in the sky during storms. Birds, insects, aircraft, and kites are often considered to fly in the sky. Due to human activities, smog during the day and light pollution during the night are often seen above large cities.

I was arguing with someone a few years ago about whether there is a god or not. My position was pretty certain, there was no god. The person I argued with told the following story:

One day, some scientists were arguing with God. They told God that He wasn't needed anymore because anything He could do, science could do just as well.

"Really," said God quizzically.

"Really," insisted the scientists.

"Can you make trees and bushes," asked God.

"We've done it many times," boasted the scientists.

"Can you make life from dirt," God asked.

"Certainly," said the scientists.

God said He would like to see them do that.

One of the scientist reached down and picked up a handful of dirt. He motioned for God to follow him into the lab.

God looked confused so the scientist explained that they would take the dirt into their lab and show God how they did it. God could go with and watch the process.

God shook His head. "No, no," He said, "use your own dirt."



That story, silly as it is, revealed a stark truth to me. God, whoever He is, had to have been here before dirt. That changes the entire argument from the usual atheistic comparisons of God to Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny. It completely invalidates their argument because it demonstrates that they can't account for the "dirt".

I still am not a religious subscriber but I am also not so confident of my argument against God. Until I can account for the dirt, I must accept the possibility that there is a God. So. Is there a God?

The atheist must believe as strenuously as any religious believer because his facts are no firmer than those of the religious person... who does account for the dirt by invoking magic. The atheist invokes magic of a different kind but it is still magic.

I am left with a question unanswered... and maybe unanswerable. I simply do not know.
