I'm shocked that the 'editing' option below each post isn't used by more. I am an avid user of that function.

You aren't alone, and even after I've previewed what I had written. :XD:

Somehow, I think for some, not all, it is a matter of laziness. I mess up from time to time and catch something too late to edit it out. However, my feeling is if a thought is important enough to post, then it is important enough to present in a way that projects the thought matters. It's a bit like meeting someone for the first time. You want to put your best foot forward. That first impression, if it takes a wrong turn, is hard to fix.

I've done 'two' edits already on this post.....

I edit, repeatedly. My problem is, while putting 'my best foot forward,' I often stumble.

Well, to be perfectly candid, I don't just stumble, I absolutely fall flat on my face and require emergency treatment to extract that pesky come-along from my mouth, never mind my foot!! I'm sure beyond a shadow of a doubt at about 12:45 in the A.M. I did just that!! Sometimes, I must confess that I may even see something that ought to be changed, but I am just too tired to right it. All I can say is mea culpa. I am always open to constructive correction, doncha know. ;)

Well, as Billy Joel once said..."I love you just the way you are."

 You say the nicest things. Think I shall just keep that thought front and center this day.....Of course, John has been known to wryly comment with a smile on his face the fact that I am unique. Whatever do you think he means by that?

I have no doubt John is describing you as unique in this defined way...from the dictionary:

'Unique'...having no like or equal; unparalleled; incomparable.

 Having no like, and certainly unparalleled would be accurate. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I am incorrigible. John would be quick to tell you I embrace that philosophy!! I don't think I ever want to give you two the chance to go off fishing by yourselves!!

  Well, I'm glad you like that definition, even though those traits 'sometimes' get me in trouble, but nothing a good sturdy come-along can't fix, well most things, any way.

THE NAVY IS WEIGHING whether to have Marines hitch a ride on foreign warships, citing a shortage of US vessels due to recent budget cuts

I think he's referring to the Navy not being able to ship Marines, but now they will go on foreign vessels. Just another way to send more money to foreign entities. Why not spend that on the Navy vessels?
