Sarbanes(D-MD) and Oxley (R-OH)
No Child Left Behind Act (proposed by PResident Bush,co-authored by John Boneher, R-Oh, George Miller, D-CA, Ted Kennedy, D-MA and Judd Greg, R-NH)
As far as The American Taxpayer Relief bill of 2013, introduced by Dave Camp , R-MI. being important, it was a bill that partially headed off "fiscal cliff." And indication of it's importance was that it was signed by President Obama the next day.
And it was the ONLY bill the obstructionists House and Cloture-accicted Senate Republicans sent to Obama for signature in 2013-the only bill.
Just like the Jumpstart our Business act of 2012, authored by Stephen Lee Finchner, R-TN, which was the ONLY bill in 2012 forwarded by the GOP controlled House and the Republican cloture-addicted obstructionists in the Senate.
An example of this obstruction police by the GOP is Mitch McConnell's (R-KY) motion, in Dec. 2012, for a filibuster on a bill that he had introduced. It is the first time in the history of the Republic that a Senator had self-filibustered. Reason? He didn't want give Democrats a chance to v**e for his bill that would have helped solve long-running problems getting budgets through Congress. Pure political partisan theater.
This is the same McConnell who said, in 2009, "Our main aim is to make sure Barack Obama is a one term president." No serve the people, not do his job, but to engage in partisan politics. McConnell said unless the president met Republicans "half way" congressional Republicans would not "do business" with him.
And the Republicans have used the filibuster 19 times to block judicial nominations by President Obama, compared to three times during the previous 175 (or so) years, although it only temporarily block the nominations.
Some might say Congress not passing legislation is a good thing. But when a simple budget can't be passed, when bi-partisanship is considered "date rape" when the basic business of confirming p**********l nominations is halted, when even a debate on legislation is greeted by threat of a filibuster in the Senate, taking away majority rule on even discussion of a bill, there's a problem. And it caused, almost entirely, the congressional Republicans. You may not feel that way, but a majority of Americans, according to Gallup and Rasmussen polls, do.
Merry Christmas, Dennis.

You are as dishonest as your dopey friend. And none of the bills he mentioned were major bills. I said major bills
I thought you were knowledgeable enough to know Bush signed Kennedy's No Child Left Behind and Sarbanes Oxley signed by Paul Sarbanes among others. I overestimated your grasp of facts. Sorry I will not repeat the mistake of assuming you are informed.
