Are you also complaining about highly paid athletes, your l*****ts loving entertainers, pro-left highly paid and tenured university professors and so on? Or just fulfilling your left wing agenda by blasting Republicans who have money?

This is an instance of the government attempting to pick winners and losers, which it has done at least since FDR was in the White House. Ideally, the government would have no say wh**ever in our economic affairs.

You have not aimed your reply at a living person. It is an account used by One Political Plaza to feed topics of discussion to this board. OPP has chosen to focus its efforts on left wing publications which I think is a good idea. It affords me an opportunity to criticize them.

Hear , Hear Mr Galt, (One of the Best books I've ever read)

Your analogy about FDR is spot on. It is typical progressive hypocrisy. FDR and all his Platitudes and class warfare rhetoric denouncing the evil Rich , while subjugating the poor. Is a perfect example of "Divide and Conquer". Meanwhile, by professing to "Be for the Common man" FDR enabled Our once great country to stay stifled in a Recession for ten years. FDR , deserves no recognition of greatness. When FDR died he was worth an Estimated 60 million. So much for the "Common Man".

FDR was bad for our country? You want the rich to control our country? Have you read what Vanderbuilt-Rockefeller-Carnagie--JP Morgan-Dupont- and Ford did to our countrys working man? The rich came very very close to destroying our country in the name of greed! Yes FDR made 60 million--pennies compared to those people--Gates is worth 65 billion--Rockefeller and those listed were worth over 500 billion in todays money! They played monopoly with our country--Tell me how much money does one person or 1 family needs!-We citizens of today are just naive to think they have our best interets at heart--Read FDRs 2nd bill of rights to Americans in 1945 then tell me who FDR really cared about!
#1 All Americans will have jobs
#2 All Americans will own there own homes
#3 All Americans will have universal health care
#4 All Americans will have a college education
#5 All American seniors and regular citizens will be given a living wage with affordable health care---Later called medicare and the minimum wage!
WE as Americans wouldnt support this? Yeah right dummies!

The rich will support this? NEVER This is Socialistic--BUT not complete socialism by the way
You that support the rich like a "JOE ( not really a plummer) The plummer just are not very educated at best and are just plain stupid at the worst!

Oh those rich moochers in our past actually flat out K**LIED as many american workers as did WW1 and WW2 and The Korean War and Viet Nam and Iraq wars combined by the way--Read our history people! How about the American Indians and the S***es that we k**led--We ARE the best country in the History of the world BUT lets NOT forget what made us this way and it Was NOT the rich! It was the opportunity for the regular american citizen to live a decent life away from that which the rich was taking from us in Europe and now they are doing it here! READ HISTORY! IT IS BEATING YOU IN THE FACE! FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!

Unfortunately for literally millions of Americans "history is Antiquated and outdated" not to be redundant. However, I implored my own family to Read about our History and western History in general. Plato, Socrates to Madison and Jefferson. Their response was "It doesn't have a direct correlation to my life, so I don't care" I paraphrased that , but you see where I am going. We have all heard the adage "If you don't learn from History, then it is bound to repeat itself" We are living proof that it is. I appeal to everyone with common sense to stand strong and yes! become angry, but temper that emotion with your wallet and your v**e. 49% of America, more or less agrees with us.
I must address another issue that concerns me. I consistently read the reference to socialism and socialistic . Now those have already proved failure in other countries. Social Democracies ie Sweden /Canada. Though heavily burdened with Taxes, succeed. Those countries have a population of 9 and 34 million respectively. America is unable to "Sustain" that kind of entitlement program at 308 million and counting.
Margret Thatcher once proclaimed, "Socialism is Fine , until you run out of everyone else's Money" either way you slice it America's future is "Unsustainable". Now there is a word the Anointed one and the progressives refuse to use. I hear "Sustainable" energy , "Sustainable" food resources Yada, Yada, Yada.. I have researched both. America is sitting on more Natural Gas and oil than any other Country.. The only thing "Sustainable " about the EPA and it's regulatory commission is that it's "Unsustainable"... I'll save you the Facts to validate same , for a later post.. I am going to go Smoke a cigarette, in front of my kids, while I fire up my 512 horse power 68 Mustang.. Hey! I have a Solar panel on the roof for my Radio:)

You just wrote, a couple days ago, that the government should be "protecting" the corporations.

You can't have it both ways.

Michael Lind certainly doesn't know much about taxes, or is he pruposely misleading us. Warren Buffet allegedly paid a lower tax rate then his secretary, not lower taxes. Also the 13.9% Federal Taxes Mitt Romney paid had nothing to do with the employee/employer payroll taxes. Every working dude pays the payroll taxes. That whole paragraph about taxes was Barbara Strieshand (it's the initials). It is unfortunate that low information v**ers read this BS and believe it.

The thing is, the Social Security tax is only collected on PART of your salary, if you are a big earner. Something like $115,000 is the cut off, (I am sure someone on here will tell me.)

That would be a good loophole to close, and make everyone, pay SS tax on every taxiable dollar.

I thought that I should reply to a person since a person posted a topic or reply on this site, and should my opinion only be validated if it only agrees with yours or the OPP site?

If the top earners were to pay SS on every dollar they earn should they get a larger payment when they retire?
