Glad you brought up the medical use of marijuana. I'm not sure I like that, and for this reason: If---and that's a big if---there is a pain-k*****g aspect to weed (and I believe it may be a mental/emotional effect only. Needs to be researched), then scientists should find out exactly what biochemical substance it is, perhaps so they can purify and/or derive it from the hemp plant, thus lessening the mind-numbing effects of THC itself in the plant.

When I first decided to try out marijuana, just to see exactly what the effect was, I found out everything I could about it. Remember, this was back in the '60's. It was reported that hashish was the ground flowers of cannabis, and marijuana was the ground leaves of the young plant. In the 19th century, hashish was eaten by some in Europe. Its effect was completely different from the leaves; the hashish was a stimulant, the reverse of the leaves themselves. (I also believe that the Assassins did, in fact, eat hashish, although there are some who do not believe that.)
