We keep making the same mistakes

We helped the Afghan people drive the Soviets out of their country by providing arms, supplies and money. These items were smuggled into Afghanistan through Pakistan.
Years later WE are the invaders and supplies are brought in to throw us out - through Pakistan. We forgot.

Financial collapse occurs due to over leveraged banks and risky, undercapitalized investments. Money is loaned to financial institutions to prevent catastrophe. Loaned money is used to lobby for watered down regulation aimed at preventing another collapse. Now business a usual. We forgot

Our country has an identity crisis going on that few seem inclined to deal with. We cannot seem to learn from past mistakes. We treat other countries in ways we wouldn't tolerate ourselves. We prosecute individuals for things we allow corporations and Government officials to do. We allow more laws governing personal behavior than we do those for corporations and Government entities.

We just can't seem to learn.

It's not that "we" haven't learned, it's just that these things are beneficial to politicians (who continue to get rich and get re-elected). What "we" haven't learned, is to elect people that have "our" best interests in mind instead of their own.

For some reason, we expect politicians to tell us what our best interests are. Our best interest is up for auction and sold to the highest bidder.

Before you can learn from your mistakes you have to admit you made a mistake. That is something that politicians find impossible to do.

The public relations gurus that are hired to manage a politicians image, tell them no no no. Blame someone else. Turn a negative into a positive. Hoodwink the public.
When you know you're being " sold down the river " you should recall the seller. Let them go back to defending DUI's and such.

We continue to reelect the same "carpetbaggers for life" expecting a different result. Shame on us!

It may seem like a mistake to us. But rest assure they know what they are doing.

Now if you were to say that they should say they are sorry for the messes they make that would help.

It is their world we are just here to pay the bills.

For these politicians to say they are sorry for the messes they make, would take a conscience and that is something else they lack.

No I do not think they have a conscience either.

They show very little or no care at all for our future.

It is all about helping them self & those they serve today.

You are 100% right, U.S.A. is bankrupt now with 17 trillion dollars deficit and going up, the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank is printing paper dollars everyday to pay for the Federal debts, and the super-inflation going up. Our U.S. Congress is dysfunctional, and the economic situation is critical with 2 wars in the middle-east.

There has to be something more to this scenario than meets the eye. The same situation happened in Vietnam over access to rubber and oil.

Afghanistan had to do with 9/11, but, Cheney switched the focus to Iraq because he is an oil man, and his firm Haliburton would become the world biggest supplier to the military operation led by the USA.

America has to seek out honorable, trust worthy bright leaders rather that fear mongering h**e speakers and elect smart, thoughtful people to public office, not the lowest and worst.
