Actually what is really nasty about hornets is they are super fast. I have actually worked beside black wasps who were so slow that I had a truce with them. They didn't sting me and I didn't bug bomb them. Yellow jackets are a step up. If they are calm you can work about 6 ft away. Now hornets build humungus nests nests that you do not get closer than about 25 ft. You ain't going to run away from them. They are as fast as house flies and you stand no chance with them. All you can do is come back in the winter time and steal their nests for decoration.

I DID get even with them. I put on some thick clothes, for protection, a can of gasoline, and a book of matches. I poured the gasoline on their nest, and lit it on fire. ^_^. Then I got a shotgun, and pumped a few rounds into the nest, and lit it on fire again.
