are always debating which part of our armed services are the best
A friend(Auntie E) suggested that we have a friendly contest to decide once and for all who was correct
it was decided that we would have an ice fishing contest to determine the winner
the contest would last three days
There would be no observer during the fishing hours 7am to 5pm,but the fish caught would be counted each day by Archie Bunker
On the first day badbobby weighed in 4 fish.
Slat had none
On the second day badbobby weighed in 5 fish
Slat had none
Now Slat being of suspicious nature believed badbobby had to be c***ting
So the next morning instead of fishing he followed badbobby to try to catch him c***ting
Exultantly he returned to the judges stand.(,Linda Joy and Poppa Gringo were the judges)and declared himself the winner,because he had caught badbobby c***ting
When asked to explain his charges,Slat stated with a smug smile

"I saw him cut a hole in the ice"!!

You fail to mention, BB, that you were using Armie's magical worms...giving you an unfair advantage. I also discovered you had someone run down to the local fish market to purchase your 'catch.' In the end, I caught and hauled in more ice, thus winning...since it was an "ice-fishing contest."

Haha! As a Corpsman I didn't have too much trouble with this rivalry, being both a Sailor and an Ex Officio Marine. In your analogy, I would always be the winner. I would order both the Sailor and Marine to give me THEIR fish, privileges of rank and all that.
