The oath is not about blind allegiance to unconstitutional acts.

If you'd taken the oath you'd know that.

Answers my questions.

My oath was to defend the US Constitution agsinst all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC.

I swore nothing to governments, politicians or parties.

Bound by the UCMJ I did not swear to follow orders that violated oath.

You're a bad little wet pussy...Here's my answer.

Anyone, who has served in the military has taken this pledge:

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

I would say that you're offending a lot of people that have taken this oath, since the POTUS is a representative of our republic. If you take this oath, you invariably "trust" the government. Otherwise, you have no business taking it.

You absolutely did the right thing. That's what I meant by a Democracy with conscience. Congratulations and thank you. You would have made a much better Secretary of State.

What if the POTUS was an honorable man when you took the oath, but his predecessor was not so honorable. In fact, was the exact opposite of honorable. Then do you follow your conscience or do you obey anyway? Got a lot of Germans in trouble quite a few decades ago.

Essay on UCMJ Article 92, the link would not paste, but it will google. Lawful and unlawful orders are contrasted.

The oath is to defend the Constitution then to follow lawful orders...

Shooting unarmed civilians is an unlawful order. (Makes one wonder about drone strikes? Insert your German statement here) Any violation of the Constitution is an unlawful order. That can get sticky with a court martial having to decide whether the order was lawful.

But don't research the treatment of German POW's after WWII. Not a glorious moment for the US Army. Probably unlawful.

A sign of the times

Yes, I recognize you're the overly sensitive thin skinned type. You go by many handles but you're all the same. You're a democrat. So, what? You want to label me a conservative. What your type does best is attach labels.

See I can play your game. We are divided now. Neither side wins. There is no common ground to be found. Hurrah!

You seem to like being identified with a herd. I fall victim to a herd mentality myself. I like to fancy myself above the rest. I am the psudeo (means f**e) intellectual looking for a deeper meaning.

Here is a psudeo philosophical (means lover of knowledge) thought: The hammer does not drive
the nail. Deep.

Go peddle your fish.
