As to equal pay for equal work, should players in the WNBA be paid the same as players in the NBA? As to allowing folks to marry who they wish, how do you feel about gay siblings marrying each other, how about those who willingly go into multiple marriages - today they can't marry who they want and your standards seem to suggest them wrong.

As to free health care, once again a simple reality needs to be faced - THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH

I made one simply declarative statement and you address a thesis to me. Perhaps you would have been better advised to read some of the other comments and place your diatribe there.

"Just rights" are not special enough for certain groups. The precedent for being a protected, special group was set with Affirmative Action.

AuntieE,
I'm not so sure that government has the capability to legislate fairly on a moral issue. Laws and Government usually just changes WHO is discriminated against, like Affirmative Action.
I suggest that this problem will be truly solved only when people wise up and become tolerant of other persons non-threating lifestyle or views. The idea is good, but laws to correct the problem will create more resentment from others.
The question is; does the good done by the law outweigh the bad done by the law, should the government be involved. I don't know, just some thoughts.

I will comment on only one portion, the first sentence.

As I DO NOT perceive people in the government are very moral, they would have ZERO capability of legislating, fairly or unfairly, on any moral issue.

Just my thoughts.

I've found they do tolerably well on the moral issues of murder and theft, not admirably.

As equal pay is one of your issues, you may wish to consider your feelings about the current Democratic President and the fact female staff in his administration earn less then their male counterparts. Such seems interesting with his Lily Ledderbetter Law.

Who would convey the "right" to healthcare coverage? Our rights are pretty much defined in The Bill of Rights. Nowhere is the right to healthcare, health insurance or the word marriage mentioned. Be assured there are a great many who understand rights should not be taken for granted.

When the "bill of rights" were written there as no such thing as health insurance. Didn't need to be considered as physicians, at that time, considered it their oath to treat anyone who needed it - regardless.

Welcome Auntie Lee,

You are definitely in the right spot if you want to encounter those who ardently disagree with you. You can attempt to explain your political thoughts with those don't share them.

I am appalled by your positions: You have stated that oil companies do not deserve their wages, but their just compensation would be better used by the state this is s***ery. It is you worrying about yourself, I'm sure.

I read your thoughts as in favor of theft, murder, and adultery with ardent opposition people who condemn these behaviors as wrong.

First how can you be appalled by what little I posted about my positions...I didn't figure I needed to explain everything I believe in one fell swoop. I have no problem with companies making a profit, it is what businesses do. I do however have a big problem with companies that make billions in profit and get tax payer subsidies or end up paying zero taxes and in some cases have gotten millions in refunds, while funding is cut for educating the children who are going to be the leaders of tomorrow. If we do not make education a much higher priority than it is now this country is going to be screwed when the future becomes the present.

I don't think I said I was in favor of murder or anything like it. I am pro-choice, that does not make me pro-a******n. I think they should be rarely used and none after the 20th week unless there is a valid medical reason. I do think that a woman who is the victim of rape that results in pregnancy or incest she should have the choice. Despite what some think women do not posses a magical vagina capable of telling the difference between friendly sperm and that of a rapist. I have always found it amusing that republicans seem to have no problem with the death penalty, k*****g a living breathing human being, yet they love to tell folks like me that if we abort a single cell we are destined for hell. I also find it irrational for those who are anti-choice to rail against birth control. Now if you are a pharmacist or a boss and you don't believe in birth control then you don't have to fill the script or offer it in insurance. They want a big old consciousness clause that will allow them to control what a woman can and can't put in her body. News flash guys, there are reasons for taking birth control pills that have nothing to do with pregnancy control. It amazes me that you all fight so hard to make women let nature take its course...if you have sex they don't want you to have protection and if you get pregnant you must carry to term yet they don't follow their own rhetoric. Now if the penis doesn't always preform or dies, as nature intended it to later in life we must save it at all costs...Viagra, Cialis and penis pumps all around.

As far as adultery goes, I personally think it should be a jail-able offense. I find it hard to listen to someone telling me about the sanctity of marriage when they are on their third or fourth wife or are currently c***ting on their spouse.

I find it funny that the party claiming to want smaller government wants it big enough to get in the vaginas of American women and in the bedrooms of consenting adults.

What else is justice for k*****g other people than your own life taken from you?

I find it funny you affiliate a political party with certain moral positions.

Why should I pay to educate other people's children? What is good about stealing from me to educate your children?

Smaller government would be a solution to large corporations buying favor from establishment politicians

Those who believe in unrestricted a******n are the fringe - not those who believe the government has a role to play.

Those who suggest the bedrooms of consenting adults must support incestous and mulitiple marriages as long as those involved consent - another fringe position

I believe it was Jesus that said "let he who is without sin throw the first stone."

I have a no problem with others moral positions, I have a problem when you try to turn your beliefs into my laws.

I don't have children but I do care about them and whether they will be ready for the world when it is their turn to run it. We are getting our collective butts kicked by other nations when it comes to science, technology, engineering and math and cutting funding for education is not going to do anything but make the problem worse. I do not see how this means I want to take money out of your pocket. I want it to come from those companies who have benefited billions of dollars in profit yet are still getting taxpayer subsidies, so if anyone is taking money from you it is them.

You can use a littel bit of economic education. Businesses do not pay taxes, they collect them for the government.

Big business loves big government - that is how they can keep comptetition at bay.

Breals for special interests come from establishment politicians from both parties. The only political movement of any seriousness opposing this establishment is the tea party you so disdain.
