I would never limit myself to one shot. If my life was in danger, I would empty the clip.

While I would agree that is the best course of action, it isn't always feasible when running, ducking and firing simultaneously.

I'm sorry, I should have been more succinct in my reply. I was referencing a war zone, but you are entirely correct in your scenario.

Things don't always happen in a controlled environment. A model 12 is handy indoors. It goes where peashooters dream. Mine was all over Nam.

Not really. Been there. Surprise is surprising. Time to aim is a luxury in reality. At 10' a model 12 with a 12" barrel throws a pattern if #4 shot from a 2 3/4" magnum.....7' wide. All k**l zone. A 12 fires 7 rounds as fast as you can pump with the trigger held. Loaded with 00 buck stainless 30 cal multiple it will take down a10" tree in a jungle including anyone in it.
