Well I would certainly like to think when I talk that someone at least listens, but I'm not naïve enough to think I'm going to make a difference, and as we all know you can talk to some people until you are blue in the face, and even if they won't say it to your face they will go away with the thought in their head, wow what a grass bowl.

Thanks AE, although I begin to see that the spirits of resignation and defeat have had a field day with the hearts of some who ordinarily would be rising to this challenge, and the spirits of hatred and intolerance are preventing others from even talking - except to insult and revile. Conviction. Gratitude. Hope. Love. And a God who preserved my life when I was intent on destroying myself. We were all born for just such a time. You may notice , I didn't say "talk until you are blue in the face". I said "persuade", and that is done more by deed than word. Pray to be used of God in the service of just one person. As I mentioned earlier - a pebble can start an avalanche. This battle needs to be won on the personal level first. The national level will follow.

A philosophical point for you. Does it not interest you that it seems to be the elders/seniors who are most willing to stand "rising to this challenge". They seem to worry little about the "hatred and intolerance" directed toward them. I am unable to determine whether it is based on seeing it as a final act for the country, strength of character based on "old school" standards, or other reasons.

Let us get away from "talk" and go another way. Several years ago I read a Christian fiction book by Karen Kingsbury. The most important thing I brought from that book was the acronym "PUSH"? The acronym stands for "Pray Until Something Happens". PUSH may bring the necessary words to "persuade".
