Canada's health care can't be too 1st class with the number that come to the US for health care. Lived 3 miles from the boarder for years and the number of Canadians that used a US hospital was quite high.

Then you just don't WANT to see it! It's evident to anyone who is looking. He's admitted he's a muslim, by the way--he took it back, but can WE do that?

Very friendly with Clinton as he was a neo-liberal. Stopped watch Canidian politics when I moved to Florida.

Yes Navysnipe, That was definitly a setup. I have a condition that causes me to pass out occasionally. When a person passes out or faints, they don't wobble around like that lady did. It all happens at once. By the time I realize I'm going to passout, I feel it coming on but there's nothing I can do about it and then I'm down, straight down. My legs give out and I'm down and out.

Yep, Obama's interest in anyone's well-being ends at the tip of his forked tongue. The only person he cares about is Barack Obama. His wife and family come next, but I'd wager that if a situation arose in which he had to choose, he sell them out like he did his mother and grand mother.

I've gone to Canada for health care-my insurance company told me comparable treatment in the US would have cost 60% more.

There is sometimes a wait for certain procedures in Canada. And it you get one bypass surgery and don't stop smoking, if you smoke, or lose weight, if you are overweight, you don't get a second bypass.. They put some responsibility on their citizens up there You can't just eat and smoke your way to to an expensive operation and them continue to eat and smoke and expect another one.

We ration health care in the US-according to wealth. They ration it up there-according to need and responsibility.

Many US citizens go to Taiwan for health care-to Mexico and other nations for everything from cosmetic surgery to t***splant surgery. (Taiwan actively advertises for US "health care tourists.")

Just because somebody goes somewhere's else for health care doesn't automatically mean its better. It just means its more available to that particular person, for wh**ever reasons.

fact 1: We, the United States, spend more on healthcare than any other nation on earth, about 50% more than the closest other nation, Switzerland or Sweden.

fact2: We spend more on administration, or paperwork, of this system, 17%, than any other nation on earth.

fact3: Not all nations with universal health care are broke or going broke, and there's no indication that any of the nations, ie: Spain, Greece, etc, went broke on their universal health care system. Germany is doing fairly well bailing out the rest of the EU and still has enough to pay for a universal health care system that would make most Obama h**ers scream "C*******t!" Despite several attempts by the right in Canada to repeal there universal HC system, Canadians have overwhelmingly v**ed to keep it. I've been there and have seen that it works pretty good and that it bill my private, US-based insurer about 60% less for comparable care in the US.

fact 4:Taiwan administers its universal HC system with about 3% administrative costs. Red f**gs fly on abuse of this system when one visits the doctor more than 200 times a year without a serious or chronic health problem. Taiwan is also a "healthcare tourist" destination (including HC tourist from the US) for various medical procedures from cosmetic surgery to t***splant surgery. The HC there can't be all that bad.

fact 5:Despite our world record spending on health care, we consistently rank lower than most developed nations record on a variety of health care indicators, from average lifespan, maternal mortality, infant mortality, heart disease rates, etc. Right now, we're tied at 17th-with Costa Rica, a nation that has a universal health care system.

fact 6: about half of all bankruptcies in the US are caused by the inability to pay health care bills, including people who have health insurance but have had too many bills unpaid. Here in the US, you sign forms that make you personally responsible for all Hc bills even when you have health insurance-the insurance company has no legal obligation to pay even though a Hc policy is a contract between you and your health care insurer. Check out contract law VS tort law. I know this because my credit score is poor because my health insurance providers (one for my auto accident, one for general HC) have been delinquent in paying my bills, I have been to court four times to make them pay-the eventually do-but the damage to my credit score is already done.

fact 6: the US federal government, and various state charity care funds, pay for more than 45% of all health care bills. They pay for the old, the poor and the very sick. Private insurers skim the pool of the employed-by factor of being employed, mostly healthy and younger. We already have a socialized system albeit one that only pays for about half of all health care bills.

OK, these are the facts-check on them carefully and see what conclusion you come to. My conclusion is a universal system run by a regulated private monopoly al la the old Ma Bell telecommunication system. Everybody h**ed Ma Bell, but it worked. You couldn't destroy its phones with a sledge hammer-this I know because I tried.

Mistrust the government all you want. We are the government. Instead of fearing the government why not make it fear you-not through threats or calling Obama a c*******t gay muslim (a contradiction in ,terms as there ever was) but by demanding that it produce results. It all started with "We The People." Make it live up to the ideal.

We already have universal health care, It's called medicaid. Any government owned/operated business has failed. Health care insurance isn't the problem, the medical industry itself is the problem. Insurance companies operate in a free market. If they can't make a profit then they go out of business. They do what they need to make a profit as a free market provides. If medical costs go up then, in order to maintain their profit margin, they must increase their rates. Government run anything is not free market.

Medicare works quite well, thank you, even if it's future remains in doubt. It works surprisingly well despite the fact that it cares for the old, while Medicaid deals mostly with the very poor. This is no model for a health care system that is to remain well funded. You need a cross section-the young the old, the sick, the healthy, the rich, the poor-everyone-to make a health care system viable. That's what universal health care does. It doesn't prevent anyone from getting additional coverage or paying out-of-pocket for additional care. Or going to Taiwan and getting truly efficient health care.

Again, look at the total picture and tell me what's wrong with it. One liners don't do the job.

Any government owned business has failed? hasn't the US military, wholly owned and operated by the US government, been a rousing success? Hasn't Social Security, despite the repeated congressional and p**********l raiding of its 'trust fund" been successful? Ask tens of millions of seniors and disabled that get at least enough money to eat (even if it is cat food) through SS. Or ask any one of the 'enemies" past and current presidents, and past and current congresses, have ben the target of Us military power.

The military is NOT a business. SS has Failed. I doubt I'll get back a fraction of the taxes I've put in.

Being forced to pay for YOUR healthcare by raising my taxes is not universal healthcare. I don't want to pay for YOUR healthcare or anyone Else's but my own. I work, I pay taxes, I purchase what I need to live plus a few extras if I have money left over. Once the gov. is involved with healthcare, you will see a drop in the quality of medical care that you receive. Every business the government gets into - is a failure.
