Your statement was ludicrous and a lie. All of us that have gotten Social Security and Medicare have paid for that right, it is not a entitlement. I, for one, have never gotten welfare even when I was broke. There were times the only job I could get was at a bowling alley scoring for the bowlers. You probably would not remember those times.

Of course, Louie. Were we to have returned all the money we and our employers paid in, as it was pad in and invested it into out choice of stocks and made the required opportunistic trades, many of us would be major multi millionaires. Instead we were getting 2 percent when CD's were paying 18 percent, and so in. Plus, we'd have a fortune to leave lour children and grandchildren. The left is ever vigilant to try to and to steal from the producers and give to the undeserving, parasites and criminals.

Louie27-believe you are incorrect on that one. Seniors are living much longer than anticipated when Medicare/Social Security were designed. As a result most seniors draw much more from SS than they contributed into the system and that is part of the reason it has to be reformed if it is to survive. As for Medicare, the monthly premium does not come close to covering the benefits provided even if a person pays a medicare tax throughout his/her life. As for the poor and uneducated v****g republican it may be just the opposite. There are more registered democrats than republicans so statistically one could presume that there are more poor democrats than republicans. So someone grasped a title for the thread out of thin air or obtained false information from a far left wing site. Good Luck America !!!

Social Security is pure and simply a Ponzi scheme. The first folks into it got back their contributions plus - and all future generations are paid with the money taken from subsequent generations. The only difference between this program and Maddoff is that he wasn't elected to a position that allowed con men to legally con v**ers.

We will either get off this one way roller coaster by plan or by mathematical law - doing it by plan will be painful - doing it otherwise will be catastrophic.

But Peter, if you high rolling employers had been allowed to gamble your employees retirement funds in the market and you lost their retirement for them, how would we go about blaming them for their poverty?

Madoff's plans were voluntary, f you did not give him money there was nothing he could do. SS/Medicare if you do not pay, your property can seized, the courts will fine you and you could go to jail, there is no refusal to pay. That the truly d********g part of it all.

Glaucon-is it force of habit or old age which causes you to cuss people out?
I thought you were educated. I guess it is common knowledge that when one is losing the argument he/she attacks the messenger. Grow up or grow some backbone. Good Luck America !!!

Can be avoided by pooling resources and creating a hedge fund. Either way , the return is more than 2 percent. Today, yes this very day, R. D, Shell is paying 8.8 percent in dividends. Long term stocks like MMM, BK, many and others have been good places to park money for a very long time.

Peter C.-the majority of our people would not save a dime unless forced to. We live in a progressive society and most people want self gratification now and retirement is not a priority. Be happy that we have SS which is forced savings. The law requires that the funds be invested in obligations of the US government which were deemed to be the safest in the world when the program was conceived. We all know that we now hold IOUs in the fund and the money has been spent for "feel good" programs which get people re-elected so they can continue the gravy train ride. Good Luck America !!!

I wish I had the disposable income to invest today as I did in the paast. The prices are depressed ad the chance to "cherry pick" is staggering. Of course, it requires RESEARCH, but today, this is much easier than it was even 30 years ago, Google and Yahoo have financial sections that contain more than the bascis. They even have commodities, where metals, produce, futures market info and prices are all there, even CURRENCY trading info is possible with their info..just for fun, chart MMM, BK, RDS, IBM and any others that interest you over 1 yr, 5 yr. 10 yr and from earliest to see the trend lines, dividends, splits , and more.

You're right about one thing, you can learn a lot about people by listening and reading what they say. From what I have read posted by TASINE I would say she's a nice person, don't mind helping those who are trying to help themselves. She's well read, intelligent, respectful, and is an independent woman. She's someone I would welcome in my home anytime.
GLAUCON and from your post I've read, you think highly of yourself, you might have a piece of paper that says you're educated, but you're are not intelligent, you say you speak with t***h and facts, I haven't read one fact you posted today, I've seen your opinion a lot but no fact, you're not a respectful person, and I can promise you one thing, if you were ever around me in person and after I heard her ask you not to speak to her anymore, the 2nd time you said something and ended it by calling her an evil b***h again, I would knock your f-ing teeth down your throat without saying a word. I could care less how you disrespect other male's or even another female if they brought on themselves. But today TASINE ask for you not to speak to her, and you followed three times after with some useless comment and each time called her an evil b***h, and that says everything there is to know about GLAUCON

================
Ladies and gentlemen: Majority of democrats are free loaders.

Since college, I worked and studied hard, became a CPA, made good money, now retired and widowed. As a widow and single,I pay very high federal income tax average of $27,800 each year. In 2015, it is going up. I also paid $8700 property tax, and is going up in 2016, due to so many public school kids added from the i*****l a***n families.

Since college, I have been a REPUBLICAN who worked hard, feeding the democrat low brainer-free loaders. And that include the i*****l a***ns, violent or not, brought to our country by the democrats so that they could have many free loading supporters. That include the "black l***s m****r" activists, and thugs on the streets knocking down white people. Added to these free loaders are i*****l a***ns, and radical Muslims k*****g and raping American citizens.

This is how democrats win the e******n by multiplying free loaders, using the money of the Republican hard working taxpayers to feed these suckers.

In 2015, there are 47,000,000 people in this country who don't pay federal taxes. They are all democrats, and most of them are 99% handouts.
