Insurance companies do not charge $150,000 for a bypass operation. Providers do. Every hospital I see in the State of NJ is adding some new fancy wing.
An Average MRI machine costs around 1 Million dollars. Providers charge THOUSANDs for an MRI and perform dozens a day. Payback is MONTHS

You are missing the point, but I expected that much.

I didn't miss any point. You failed to make a valid one

Try pre-existing conditions. Try automatic letters of rejection on any claim sent at least 3 times. Try raising policy quotes in anticipation of Obamacare. Try actuary charts that favor the penalty of denying a legitimate claim that may occasionally go to actual trial and win over paying all legitimate claims. Try a team of lawyers to fight any challenge to their decision over a family broken by health costs that cannot afford a postal stamp in protest. This is a small list of abuses.

I recently went through YEARS of care for family members with fatal conditions. My sister had colon cancer and suffered for 4 years until she died at 49. My brother was diabetic. He suffered 5 years. First was the loss of toes then an eye. Then a leg. Next more toes and finally kidneys and dialysis. Finally at age 60 his heart gave way. My brother spent probably 2.5 years of his last 5 in a hospital bed or rehab. He was fitted for a prosthetic leg and went for therapy. During both cases I NEVER had an issue with insurance. They never once refused treatment. 2 different companies.

I am truly sorry for your pain and losses. Friends and family have had similar conditions and faired differently by their insurance providers. It is a for profit industry. Actuary charts, in the light of decency, are an ugliness too profane to imagine.

Healthcare is a for profit industry. Doctors. Nurses etc. Everyone makes money.

Hello Rubin and Tasine. What is bringing America to it's knees is Corporate America hording their investments or investing in companies in other countries. China is partly succeeding so well because we are taking business there. Also, people are hording their money if they have it to hord because they are unsure of the future of the country. Saving money is a good idea. Gold better, I hope.
