Back in the mid fifties - early sixties; so many yankees were moving down to South Florida and they were driving like crazy people. So many accidents and so often they were looking every where (palm trees, gators, ocean, etc. etc.) except at the road and the cars which they kept running into.

It was a serious situation and the Fla C*****rs could hardly shoot or hang them all because they just kept coming down.

A SOLUTION: Someone came up with a grand idea and soon everyone was putting one on their car also.

What was it. Just a simple little running light attached onto the middle of the front grill, wired direct to the wiring harness so that when the car was running the light was also.

You could buy the light for about a dollar fifty at the local car parts or hardware store.

You could easily see the cars with the running lights and yes it helped. Of course the stupid Yankees kept wrecking each other.

I wonder why that idea faded with time and you never see it any more..... (oh well)

Yep, the damyankees ruined Florida. It began in earnest at the end of the war. Prior to that, during the winter months, we were inundated with the damyankee snowbirds, but they were manageable. However, after discovering Florida's many charms during the war, they emigrated back permanently, took over, and ruined our way of life. It has never been the same.
