whats the Class ??? Id Quit too .

The class is on Globalization. My daughter is going for a Master's.

This is sickening, pair the dummies, who will then pass, with their assigned worker to carry them - SOCIALIZED CLASSROOM EDUCATION. The dummies go out there and probably end up as the next professors. We pay to educate our children, and they are being taught by people who sadly (as the old saying goes) 'don't know their rear from a hole in the ground.'

A higher pass rate also makes the professor look better.

Good Morning Ms. BearK how are you kind lady??

As one who has spent his life in the trades I can tell you that I believe that we have allowed Academia to create its own industry by brain washing the masses into thinking EVERYONE should go to college. I disagree we should never allowed shop and trade classes to be taken out of the schools, not all people are meant to be scholars some are actually very gifted with their hands...

A couple of counties over, a teacher moved there from up north somewhere, and was appalled by the drop out rate in the High School. He started a program to take those who had enough credits to enable them to graduate within a reasonable length of time. He started 'work shops,' teaching trades - plumbing, electricity, construction, etc. It has taken about three to four years, to build it up for wonderful results. They also get academic courses, and are shown how important (math for instance) these courses are for a trade. The graduation rate, for these at risk students has risen to over (as I recall) 60%.

When he moved there, that county had the highest drop-out rate in the state. That should be a model for other counties. Not everyone is college material, and for the 'eggheads' - whose going to keep their cars running, wire their homes, fix the plumbing, or add on that spare room?

By the way, good to see you Workinman.

There should be more teachers like the one I mentioned, ones who care about educating our kids, and directing them toward what they are good at.

Amazing.
Regardless of how unaligned with all the demonstrable data from the past thousand or so years, and regardless how the modern socialists try to drive us into an amorphous mass- everyone-exactly-the-same-in-all-things- there are still folks who see the failings of the foolish public educational system's goals. There is reason for us to celebrate and start making meaningful noise at those institutions which are force-feeding our kids the propaganda BS from some new world order moguls.
