when I was tad to the PI our barracks was on the uphill side of the road and the Marine barracks was on the down hill side of the road and every morning at 0600 they would fall in on the road for their morning run and I thought man I'm glad I'm not a Marine, then I retired and moved aboard my boat at the marina near NAB C****ado and would watch the seals work out across the road and I thought man those Marines are a bunch of softies compared to these guys

I had the Godfather to my two sons live in C****ado, Silver Strand Beach, south of San Diego. He died a few years ago. His name was Major General Ed Meyers. He also served the MCRD Museum Board, and the San Diego Crime Commission. Did you know, or know of him? His wife, Ann, still resides in C****ado, as far as I know. :mrgreen:

the name sounds vaguely familiar but that would be late 80s when I first got there and was still working
