 Wonder whats going to happen in the next 15 years at the rate were loosing our greats lately. Music by robotics, sung by computers and composed by a smart phone, listened to by brain dead liberals living their euphoric life style on drugs and free s**t, hell I don't want to hear any of it.

Some of the stuff that is classified as music nowadays is just noise to me. At least country should still be around, I hope. :hunf:

Another thing in common Linda. Music was always very important in my life. As a matter of fact, "in the day," it was my profession. I sang with a band - mostly standards - from Sinatra to Streisand. More recently my song choices turned to country: Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Reba, Wynonna, Leeann Rimes, JoDee Messina, etc. Nowadays, however, it's choir.

Presently, I'm trying to record a CD for my husband. He recently passed and it's really difficult for me to get through a song. He was always my biggest fan and had asked me for a recording for quite a while, but time ran out on us. If I'm ever able to do it, I plan to place it where he now lies with a copy in an album I'm creating for him. It's tough, Linda. He was an exceptional man and the love of my life.

I, of course, had heard of Alison Kraus, but was not that familiar with her work. Her voice is lovely and her higher register is, as you described, like that of an angel.

The two videos below are by a favorite singer of mine named Linda Eder. Her voice and choice of songs is absolutely awesome (of course, it didn't hurt that the composer of many of her songs was her husband, at the time). He is also extremely talented. Please play the first video to the end to hear the full range of her vocal abilities.

"If I Had My Way" (not the old standard) is in remembrance of 9/11/01. It is a touching and beautiful melody. (BTW - That was her husband at the piano.)

 Krauss is great kind reminds me of the 60s and 70s style ladies. I like BS&T, Orbison, 3 Dog, Fleetwood Mac with Christy well the list goes on and you get the idea. What we have now are a lot of screamers with little talent and country folk who seem to be happy swinging to left politically. I just don't think Hollyweird or Nutsville Nashville should ever open their mouth about politics or religion as people in this day and age don't have the mental capacity to handle what their pseudo hero's are saying but then I am getting single sided in my mature age so I guess some of them can just go smuck each other.

Please allow me to show below all that is needed..When you hit share, hi~lite the box that comes up and then copy it..When you come back here to post it, remove just the s from https and make it http only..It will then post your actual chosen video..

Your second posting did bring me right to the song~but just to simplify, again~~

http://youtu.be/Y32XCriC-rI

Amazing song, amazing voice..Gave me chills her voice did!!!!....Her vocal pitch beautifully pitched, strong and echoing almost.....Excellent...How nice her talented husband sets it all for her...

Now, I also extend an invitation to you to please come and post more of this fantastic music, in our music threads..We have general, country and oldies goldies...I'll pull up the country and oldies goldies threads as I am sure they have declined in the page count so you may take a look.. Listen and enjoy Tradition...I love to sit here listening to them while posting, often my serenity and keeps me from saying something I will later regret!! ;)

Yes, another we have common and that is very nice... If you need any help at all, pm me and I'll walk you through the process. It sounds more complicated than it is and you obviously are familiar with it already anyway..

Finally Tradition/Talented we have yet another in common ..I lost my husband suddenly and unexpectedly as well and he was without doubt the love of my life and my best friend...I know your pain~~

I am sorry to hear of your loss, I truly am..It is very hard, days you think you will not make it and yet you do..Do what he wanted you to do Tradition..Don't ever give up on yourself and live life loving life..You DO survive....You're gifted, take full advantage of it and do that CD for him....IT will be your solace and expression of that love you are talking about...Know it and it is...May also be your hit CD..Things done in love, bring more love~~Remember that, Tradition...PM if you just need to talk or want someone to scream at, or laugh with~~

Nice assortment of artist there, dog!!!  Like them all too...

Yes, some have but I must admit I like the new country, not so twangy as some of the older stuff..But the good guys, Charlie P***e, Willie Nelson, Conway Twitty, Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, without doubt, Brooks and Dunn, Clay Walker, etc I like very much..Many more I could name but not enough space here! ;)

As for Rock, Idang near love it all from any group, yours are great, Warrant, Slaughter, Firehouse, Zeplin, Styx, Marshall Tucker egads I could never stop here...etcetcetc

Krauss is just my all time favorite,Bonnie Raitt, Nora Jones Celine Dion, Adele, excellent too...lolol I better stop..

lololololl Nutsville Nashville, really should not but then they ALL do..After 9-11 they had some butt kicken we're comen to get you type or Kiss my as-- type songs that I played a lot..Toby Keith the likes, those boys went to town as well as going over-seas..They are the ones that matter, they made it matter and I appreciate them for it..

You also need to come play in our music threads, if you like music enough..Like I said, to me it moves the soul, or mine at least..

 All great artists I must admit and like you said not enough space to list em all but there are more and more left wing nut cases appearing or coming out of the closet than ever in music history I think. I am so sad to hear of Dion's husband passing away a fascinating man and a great loss for Celine and friends, we seldom see happy working relationships as that any more.

Oh Linda, I am so sorry to hear about your husband. Yes, the pain is heartrending.

My Bob's death wasn't sudden though. He suffered for ten years with a myriad of diseases - 15 bladder cancer operations, triple bypass, carotid arteries, an aortic and an abdominal aneurysm, a hip replacement, diabetes, sleep apnea, and a hiatal hernia. He conquered all those challenges.

It was a one month battle with lung cancer that ended his life. Through it all, Linda, he was more concerned with his family's health than his own. He was so selfless. Guess that's why some of these politicians really infuriate me. It seems no matter what they have - it's never enough!!

We had two sons and they, and their families, have been very good to their mom. They are my solace and their children are my joy. So, yes, I have lost so much - but I have been blessed as well.

Thank you, Linda, for your kind thoughts. " Things done in love, bring more love." I liked that - a lot!!

Thank You Tradition~` I didn't mean to imply it was recently, although many a day, when things get crazy on you, it seems like yesterday..It was 5 yrs ago..You just never lose that love, or what was, but you get through it..So young he was, 46 yrs old then...

Anyway, I am a good example for you to "know" in time there is healing and life after it all..Albeit a new life that you will have to weather through but you can and will..You have a lot of love and abundancy galore, I can sense it, so you will be just fine..

One suggestion, don't deny the feelings, feel them to their core, and love them as you loved him..You will feel his in return..I promise..

Remember~~Things done in love, bring more love~~~
