Please, remain calm. I am sorry they lost; however, go St. Edwards. I say that because the sister of one of "my boys" (five year car pool member and quite frankly my favorite) graduated from St. Edwards. She is either close to finishing internship in TX or is in residency in TX. For your team.

Disappointing, but not catastrophic! Lauren is a good friend
with half of St. Edwards' team (at least). She played with and/or against most of them, some on her former high school team. No tears have been shed, just the realization that our girls can't just walk on the field, and be guaranteed
a victory! In the end, it will probably make us better.

After all, it was a "controlled" 8-inning scrimmage game, like all the fall exhibitions are. The main purpose is get a good look at the new kids, and see where to returners are in their approach to the new season.

St. Edwards is an excellent school, and I also have many friends who are graduates.:thumbup:Lauren almost went there.

Thanks for your thoughts and concerns!

Do NOT give me the green face. Let us reason together. 1. It was a scrimmage. 2. It will help them learn in pr********n for their season. 3. Would you rather lose to a school you respect or Podunk Junction? 4. Lauren continues to be a major asset to her team and school.

Why is it my lot in life to guide you along?

With my usual ignorance, I am mystified as to your disdain for my "green face". Where/what is my crime?

Why am I in need of guidance?

The Lady Horns won today, 12-6, I believe. I did not make the game, but was advised via phone by my son.

Lauren pitched 3 innings, with no runs charged against her. She allowed one run on a fielders' choice, but had entered the game with the bases loaded, and no outs. She struck out the last two batters of the inning. Her last two innings, she got all six batters she faced.

I have no other details, due to my not being there.

Everyone spoke of how splendid their beautiful burn't orange uniforms looked!

Apparently they are doing alternating games during their pre-season.

The love of the color will pass once Halloween has passed. By the way, it is burnt nor burn't.

Congrats on their win. I did notice they did better in winning when you were not present. Hmmm, something to consider.

What is this, "pile on Grandpa" day on the forum?

I use a little license with "burn't" instead of burnt...just my way. :hunf: By the way, it's "not", not "nor"!

The LadyHorns won their annual game with their UT Alumni tonight. The score was 4-0.

The alumni were a talented bunch of former players, but clearly out of shape for game conditions. They weren't sharp enough to hang with the kids tonight, but they all had a good time, which was intended.

Lauren had a particulary good game. She was very sharp for her 2 innings, striking out 4, walking none, and gave up no hits or runs. She finished the Fall exhibition season w/o
giving up an earned run!

Now, the wait for Spring, and the regular season to begin.

Lauren will be ready!
