This prayer is from 2/27/15

The next five days are very important, important for America. Benjamin Netanyahu will speak before Congress, and Obama does not want him to do that. Let us unite in prayer that his speech will not only be well received by Congress, but that the Lord comes upon our legislators to have them act on behalf of Israel's best interest, against Obama's wishes. Obama continues to defend ISIS, our sworn enemy, Israel has always been our friend. Know your enemy within, and don't shut your friends out. God will be our defense, if we pray for Israel's well being.

The re-birth of Israel is an unprecedented phenomenon in human history. No other nation has ever come back to reclaim their land, and re-establish their people, only Israel - as God ordained. The people came back to once again make the dessert bloom, there are orchards, vineyards, and gardens - just as prophesied in the Bible. The six day war, in 1967, pitted little Israel against four of its Arab neighbors. The Arab forces were twice Israel's, they possessed more weaponry and military equipment, but Israel had God, the ultimate force. Israel won a decisive victory.

It is a bothersome thought that the future of America rests in the hands of so few Americans, Congress. Oh Lord, we plead Your presence on our behalf, be our Warrior. We believe Your Word in Genesis 12:3 "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." We seek Your blessing, Oh Lord, by having Congress back Israel. Have these men and women be aware of Your Word, and fear Your wrath. Have America stand with Israel. We bring our prayer in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen.

The world outside once again became a winter wonderland, with delicately draped limbs of fluffy white snow. Even the tiny branches, on the deciduous trees are holding a fine covering of the powdery white flakes. It is so beautiful, so fairy tale clean, and so still. A world only God can make. A world for adult appreciation, and children's fun. As we look out, our mind goes back to those days of childhood, a time of innocence, a time of joy and freedom. Freedom, that too, a gift from God, a gift that man tries to control and stifle.

Lord, we are watching as our freedoms are slowly being taken away. First they place them in a box with limitations, as these limitations grow the box around us becomes smaller and smaller. People complain, but their lawmakers go ahead doing what they want to do. Where will it end? When will we find our voice, a unified voice for the people? We are in need of a strong leader. We are a scattered band of believers. We know the true history, not the revised lies being printed in texts of today. Lord, help us find a positive voice, someone like Joshua of old.

Your Word tells that story over and over, when the people fall away from You, then they get leaders who are cruel and self-serving. Sound familiar! Always, there remains a band of believers, that You continue to care for, but they too suffer. We read the Word, and we know the outcome. We feel the point of no return is rapidly approaching, therefore, we ask Lord, that You help us to find as many souls as possible, for You. The time is ripe for a revival, bring us that person, one that You choose like John the Baptist, and have us recognize him. This is our prayer Lord, and we pray in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen

I still think you should put together a daily devotional book or booklet. At least be sure to keep all your prayers and thoughts. Thanks for all you share.

You are missed, Armi. You can't still be cutting wood to burn in your stove - what are you up to now, and how is your wife doing?

This prayer is from 2/28/15

A Leap Year gift to February, an extra day. Poor little February, short month, cold, unpredictable weather month - but HEY, lots of folks' birthday month as well. Mine was one of them. Anymore those months roll around to years so fast. The time slips away, and we wonder where it has disappeared to. Only traces of it remain in our memory, traces in the History books of the country, of the world. Cling to the old books, the new ones are being revised, some with deliberate lies. Teach your children well, a song from the 60's, a song for today.

America of our youth is being stolen from under our feet, as are the morals and the values. The day will come when instead of a welfare check, the recipients will be handed a work assignment, but they can't see that far ahead. Those flooding our borders will find they ran from one dictator into the arms of another. History repeats itself, so don't teach it, they may learn! What is our hope? Our hope is the Lord, always we can run to Him, always He will take us in. Be in prayer, be in His Word. The future is not for us to see, so we can hope, we can believe, we can pray.

Always keep hope alive in your heart. Keep God deep in your soul and you will burn with hope. He will fill your depressed areas with the warmth of His love. Look up, He is there. The day probably is not too far off that He will return to reclaim the lease Satan wilily stole from an unsuspecting Adam and Eve. Beware! Be alert! Satan is fast at work as he knows his time draws short. America and Israel are his targets, stay in prayer for both. Pray each day. Our prayer, we bring, in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen.

This prayer is as relavent, if not more so, today as it was when I wrote it in 2015.

With the storms and floods plus the food pantry, cutting trees out of the yard the storms blew over, my time has been very tight lately. I have the church's lawnmower that hasn't been maintained for over two years; I usually cut the neighbor ladies yard which covers 3 acres. With all the rain her grass got away from me so her nephew loaned her his mower; she called and has it disabled. The worst thing I have ever done was let people know I am retired.

It has not rained for a couple of days and I have tomorrow off, was planning on trimming our lawn that looks like out our way, but guess what? They are forecasting rain for tomorrow. One more little duty, I must study for Bible study for Wednesday's after the food pantry closes. I am not done yet, every Friday, we have a retail food drop off and the truck has to be unloaded and the food needs sorting, meats to be frozen etc.. every first Thursday of the month we have another mobile food pantry day outside, and finally every third Thursday we have a food delivery from the USDA. Phew.

Not trying to blow my horn, but just letting you know why I have backed off the Opp.

Thanks for asking about Sue. She has more bad days than good, but she is a trooper and tries to cope the best she can with the pain she has.

I get to preach this coming Sunday, Mother's day. Our Officers (Pastors) are retiring and June 25th is their last day. This one of the things about the Salvation army I dislike. Our present Officers have been here for seven years, that is unusual as they are normally moved every five years. But Praise the Lord, He is in control and with the strength and wisdom of the Holy Spirit, we will survive.

How are things in Tenn.? I never got around to asking but were you in any danger when the big fire went through the Smokies? From some of the pictures, we have seen it must have been horrible. I pray that all is well with you. Sounds like you and Bear are still great partners. We had to put Boxer down this past Dec. He was just worn out and crippled up with arthritis that he got to the point that he was suffering so bad that to let him go on like he was, was selfishness on our part. It was heartbreaking for sue and me. But we knew it was the best for him.

We lost him but wound up gaining two. We adopted a wire haired Dauchound from one of the dog rescue places near us and we took in a Yellow Lab that was in a bad way because his owner's wife said he had to go. He is a great dog and is beginning to be trusted to run under watchful eyes.

Well, my dear Sister in Christ, the old clock on the wall is heading uphill toward one am. Hopefully, there will be some dry time tomorrow so the trimming can be done. Stay safe by staying faithful. Perhaps He is coming soon and we will be going to our real home.

May God Bless you and keep you in the hollow of His hands.

This is the prayer from3/1/15

It's a dark, overcast morning, the trees stand like sentries guarding the hill. What is out there? What is coming? Terrorists in every state, they say, Lord be our shield, we need You. Be with Netanyahu, we pray, keep him safe. Lord, we pray, any plans to upset his speech backfire on the originator. Have Christians, in force, stand up for Israel. It is our time to make a show. It is our time to take a stand to show You how we feel, a public display of support for Your Beloved Israel. Help us to get the word out, even at this late date? Help us rally a team.

Be prepared, be ready for a surprise. "The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry." We need not fear the dark, nor the unknown, because the Lord will have the last word, He will control the action. Keep your eyes on the Lord, He will lead the action, He will be our Guide. What comfort we find when we can turn our cares and concerns over to Him. Scholars say America is not found in the Book, for the last days. The Lord has hidden ways, so trust that He has it all under control and we will be there with Him.

Since we can trust that He will be there, lift your banner and look ahead with hope burning in your heart. Never lose Hope! Hope is like the blood of life, it keeps man going forward when everything around him is crashing down. It is the bright light that leads him on, the fire in his soul. Columbus had it when he dared to go forth on the ocean. Like Columbus, we now are being dared to show our hope for a nation heading into uncharted waters. Only the brave, adventurer will step forward, those with freedom burning in their soul. Come join us! We pray in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen.

So good to hear from you, and I know why there has been so little of you seen on OPP. You have more than a plate full when it comes to staying busy.

With all the rain I couldn't mow for several days and had somewhat of a hay field - particularly the front yard which I had fertilized. Cindy pays a mower every other week - so this week I don't get to mow. I do enjoy it, but I don't have a trimmer, and we have LOTS of trimming that needs doing.

Sorry to hear Sue is having troubles. I'll keep her in prayer, and you. May our good Lord smile down to ease her pain, and keep you well so you can keep busy.

This is the prayer from 3/2/15

Every morning, I go out on the deck and ask the Lord what to pray about. The one word was "God." Where do you start with such a broad subject as God? He is everywhere, He is in everything. He is a part of us, and we offer Him our heart and soul. He fills us with a joy that unbelievers do not understand, but they have a sense of envy. 'What do they have that I don't have,' is their query. Some seek it when we explain, others choose to reject it - to their continued pain. Don't give up, keep trying, if you win - both of you gain.

Our Lord God, what else do we say about Him? He has a sense of humor, He is not all serious and judgmental. He joins us when we laugh, and often He laughs at those who try to put Him in a box and dictate - such as 'G****L W*****G'. The joke is on those using that device to rob Americans of what they have worked for, a device to try help bring us down. Where is it all going, we know the ending, we just wonder how far away it still is. How many more years do we have to save souls? How much time do we have left for our own soul searching?

Dear Father, we bend Your ear in prayer for loved ones who need healing, loved ones who need to believe. We believe the 'end times' are here, and we believe miracles will abound. We have to rise above reason, and open our minds to faith, trust, total belief. We have to do like Peter - keep our eyes on Jesus. When Peter looked at the waves, he sunk. We have to speak our gratitude, speak it into existence. God is Love, He is Life, He is Light, He Is the Great I AM. We pray in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen.
