Seems to be a lot of misunderstanding of Obamacare on this site, and I found this article, by Money Magazine (neutral source, we would all agree) that explains Obamacare

I see that you can't go out and tailor a plan especially for you and your family any more. If your children are fully grown you still have to pay that part of the insurance so others can keep their kids insured until they are 26. If you and your spouse are done having children you still have to pay for prenatal care on your insurance. If you do not have any preexisting conditions you still have to pay for that benefit. If you have already had your tubes tied or had a vasectomy you still have to pay for birth control pills and devices even though you don't need or use them. And on and on it goes and that is what is driving up the cost of the insurance. That and the fact that this a major power grab by the federal government and will constitute a grab of 1*6 of the GDP and put this in the hands of the feds. And all this because people in Washington lust for "power over the people" instead of "we the people".

We are all in this together. You could have an accident tomorrow, or a stroke, and then YOU would be the one that other people are subsidizing. Insurance pools risk. Healthier people subsidize the unhealthy, as you point out, but you never know when you will be the person who needs a t***splant or something, and then you will be happy to have it.

I always thought Nancy Reagan reversing her stand on stem cell research after Ronnie got Alzheimers demonstrates the heart of the republican mind set-nothing that happens to anyone else is a problem, but what happens to me is a tragedy that deserves everyone's help.

Think! 12 questions hardly covers 2100 pages and with amendents that close to 20,000 pages. Nice article as far as it goes but it hardly puts a dent.

I don't care how you word it and what kind of flowery words you use to describe it it is all part and parcel of the Marxist socialist takeover of our government of the people. If you are so in love with paying for everybody elses problems thats up to you I prefer not to. Socialized medicine is one of the key supports in the arch of a socialist takeover. We are a free people which means we are supposed to be free to chose what insurance policy we want and how much coverage we want. As yet we have not become a socialist country in spite of the fact that there are a good number of you trying to force it down every bodies throat against their will.

I put my trust in my saviour Jesus Christ. I pray every day that he will give Ted Cruz and all the others the strength to stand their ground. People don't understand that instead of waiting two or three hours to see a doctor, it will be two or three days!!! How are they going to feel when no one can see their sick child for two days!

Ann you are purely socialistic. If you are afraid of needing a body repair then buy your own insurance. I am not here to pay for your insurance. What's next, you want me to buy your car insurance, your house insurance and on and on goes the socialist's programs. This trend dis enfranchises the working folks and enfranchises the free loaders and their sympathizers. It's not what the founders had in mind. It's not what I have in mind. I am 71 yrs old and I contracted a construction job last week. My back hurts so badly that I can't sleep. Yet, I go to word every day. I resent your telling me that I am responsible for the health insurance for others.

People don't realise how close they are. When I had my first stroke I worked two weeks after it happened having no idea what or why. Sore arm could mean many things but stroke wasn't even on my mind. Doctor knew right away just asking questions so will there be a doctor available if it happens to you?

Under Obamacare you will probably get your diagnosis from your coroner who will then tell your family why you perished. Under the system we had in place you could make an appointment and get in the next day or even the same day if its an emergency. Under Obamacare you will be lucky to get in to see the doctor in a month. Don't forget that many doctors are seriously thinking of leaving the medical field if this is fully implemented. That will mean a shortage of doctors and your own physician may be one of the ones quitting the medical field altogether.

I saw the doctor I went to, he moved to where I go now. He looked at my name and remembered the what's, 11 years ago! He said lucky man if this goes through and it happened, if and when, this goes into effect I might not be so lucky.

You are on Medicare you already have socialized medicine. The taxpayers ARE paying for your healthcare.

As I recall both medicare and medicaid were shoved down the throat of the American People against their consent. The majority rejected it but it was passed against the majority of the peoples consent anyway. I really wonder when we the people lost all control of our government and the socialist Marxist like AnnMarie took over. It would be real nice if we could retrieve our country and again make it we the people and once again have the majority rule.

Bull!!!! I paid 2,900 dollars a year for 55 yrs into Medicare. Check it out! That's $159,000 dollars. Where do you not see that I paid for an insurance policy. It's not my doing that the gov spent the money on your lazy social programs. The gov is giving me nothing. Got that!
