That's what wrong with you, DB. "you suspect" but never shut up to learn from what other people are replying. Learning God's Word is worthwhile because of the layers of wisdom. But you wouldn't study, because you talk down the Bible, you're happy where you are, and you don't make an effort to change. Same ol' DB, with many like you. If God Wills it, may He Bless you.

You never shut up to learn either,

What were you before you were you, why did God let that happen?

Looks like I have my work cut out for me. Bible study just moved to a new level for me.

The Restoration Bible came today. I opened the package at my sister's and after we thumbed through it and read of the features, instructions and some of the passages, she was absolutely astounded. The one feature that really impressed her is the use of the original Hebrew names for the Father and Son--Elohim, Yahweh and Yahshua.

Along with the study notes, the Bible includes Strong's numbering system to reference words in either the Hebrew or Greek dictionaries which are provided in the back of the book.

Also included are many, charts, maps and diagrams, biographies of principle people and authors of the books, and archaeological data. Plus there is a lot of information on the history of the original texts.

The primary theme of this Bible is its focus on the original languages--Ancient Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.

Going to be busy with this one.

I got mine today (in my favorite color too, burnt orange, go Texas longhorns) and was likewise impressed.

Say, Blade, let me know if you read or find something interesting in you new Bible. I'm interested, if you don't mind.
There is no single study Bible that can possibly provide a comprehensive approach to revealing the great message of God's Word, Frank. Study Bibles address different themes and reflect particular interest, like prophecy, archaeology, apologetics—theological & denominational perspective—life applications or by popular authors. Some are more of a word study rather than a commentary, and, they are prepared for various age groups.

The YRM Restoration Study Bible is primarily a word study Bible, but it includes considerable commentary and a lot of historical notes. The way I see it is, with this Bible I will learn more about the language transliteration and use it in conjunction with two other Bibles. There is a lot to learn, Frank, I feel I have only scratched the surface of the knowledge and wisdom the Bible contains.

Thanks, that uplifting. Been looking for interesting God inspired truths on earth. Have heard of some, and are great points to ponder, like Albert Einstein said, that he wanted to know Gods thoughts. Awesome.

The Bible Study Project

Quote:
INTRODUCTION

If there is no authoritative word from God, then, for all intents and purposes, we are but flotsam and jetsam cast about without known purpose or direction on a vast and turbulent sea. But if there is an authoritative word from God, then it stands to reason that, by listening to it, we will gain insight into the nature and reason for our existence and how we stand in relationship to God and all else.

In this study, I present evidence far beyond the threshold of proof that the Bible is the Word of God. Attorneys have studied the Bible to disprove it, and have come away believers! If you are not (yet) convinced that the Bible is the Word of God, I implore you to give these evidences serious consideration as the consequences for believing or disbelieving the Bible could not be more profound. Your eternal destiny and the quality of your earthly life are at stake. If you do know that the Bible is the Word of God, these evidences will strengthen your faith and increase your ability to launch a strong defense against attacks on your faith, and to logically present a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you (1 Peter 3:15).

It is because the authorship of the Bible is such a critical and fundamental issue that I have piled evidence on top of evidence that it is the Word of God. I will present evidence from within the Bible itself and from the natural and sociological sciences.

The Christian may wonder if I push faith aside by appealing to evidences, an intellectual consideration. That is not the case. God appealed to evidences to convince Job to trust Him (Job 38-40). Furthermore, to the intellectual we must be as the intellectual.

Paul said,

And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; . . . to those who are without law, as without law. . . that I might win those who are without law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.

~ 1 Corinthians 9:20-22 ~

and in Colossians 4:5-6,

Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of every opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned, as it were, with salt, so that you may know how you should respond to each person.

Looking at the Book of Esther that has the name of God hidden 5 times, also going to post the names of God in a bit.

Just received The Bible Study Handbook by Lindsay Olesberg. It is a manual on using the Induction method of study which is very much like the method used to study literature in college. According to the testimonials of Christians and pastors who have used this method, the results are very rewarding.

Once I have finished reading this book and understand how the induction method works, I may have further comments.

 Amen Blade. Bible study is always a good thing. It is my favorite thing. I also like to study in groups. You may see something I missed or vise versa. Good stuff bro.
