When in the Main, these topics were hot and heavy. Too heavy, atheists and some Christians alike thought. Get it out of politics into its own world. Something I thought would really flourish. What seems to have happened? Total dud. It has to be a total dud if my name predominates all last comments. Heck, most Christians appear to see me as the dreaded infidel. Where is this voice? Was so looking forward to some great debates.

Sometimes a "last comment" seems to b one comment beyond reasonable to a discussion; you know it when someone thinks the last one to comment has somehow won a point or a discussion.

I am not saying this applies to your response, only that it speaks to the value of many "last comments."

I have abandoned many discussions when I have had my opportunity to state my position, and find no response that deals with issues raised by my post. It is then that I simply move on to other themes.

You have referenced in your title "Do you guys have a soul?" I would respond, for what it is worth, "I do not "have" a soul, I am a soul. God formed Adam of the dust of the earth, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and "Adam became a living Soul."

A "Soul" is scripturally equivalent to a living person; "eight persons went into the ark; "eight souls were saved by water."

"... all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten."[Gen 46:27]

"Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude."[Deut 10:22]

When a person makes a statement such as "My soul" does this, or "My soul" does that, they are simply asserting that they do something or other with their whole being. Nothing
"half-hearted" or lackadaisically; intensely!

One of the most memorable such remarks is Mary who said "My soul doeth magnify the Lord."[Luke 1:46]

A "soul" is a body of flesh with an intact spirit. When the body dies, the flesh returns to dust whence it came, and the spirit return to God who gave it. Upon resurrection, the spirit returns to the body, and the resurrected man becomes an immortal soul.

"Soul" can also mean having a heart, a basic relationship with others and their troubles; my point in that post.

Stunned, is the word. I never expected that most posts here would end on what I said, far from it. My expectations of hearty and in-depth discourse on the subjects so far presented was misguided.

So when God references His "whole heart and whole soul," he is saying "My whole heart and whole heart?"

I don't think so.

Technically, God does not have a soul: a soul is essential to being human. And where does God reference HIS "whole heart and whole soul"?

Jeremiah 32:41 Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.[KJV]

It is one of my two favorite verses. The other is when God sings at my victory, having established His salvation for me.

Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

Blessed Be His Holy Name!

What you are doing is not "Debate," is is simply "baiting."

You offer a subject for discussion then turn it off with stupid remarks, and wonder why your remarks are the "last word!"

Because it has become evident to all that you don't want debate.

You asked me where scripture says God has a soul.

I give you the reference and you say my God is disgusting.

THAT is not debate, that is childishness. And if you do respond, it will once more be the "last word" as far as I am concerned.

Evident to all that I do not want debate is the evidence you have no debate, no one.

I do not say your God is disgusting, I said your view of Him was.

"Soul" means to be mortal by all biblical definitions. God, ergo, does not have a soul.

Are you saying God does not know what his own words mean?

There is a word in scripture that means "Mortal." That word is "MORTAL." The Greek word that justifies the translation, is θνητη and is found in
2 Cor 4:11 "... that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our [qnhtos] mortal flesh. Pronounced {thnay-tos'} Meaning: 1) liable to death, mortal

Perhaps you did not know -

"Mortal" MEANS "subject to death" which the mortal man indeed is.

Then he dies.

No longer "Mortal"

Now "IMMORTAL" as in "No longer subject to death.

The spirit in the body is a soul.

Separate, the body returns to dust whence it came, the spirit returns to God who gave it and the soul no longer is.

When upon resurrection, God re-unites the spirit with the resurrected body, man is now an immortal soul; i.e., no longer subject to death.

I think there may be some confusion as to how God has soul without body; and how it is we se terms usually confined to human application.

We did not write the bible. God wrote it by the hands of men. And it was God who said he has a soul and a heart.

God said it.

I believe it.

THAT settles it.
