I didn't say I wanted to "close it off"! Talk about "blinders" and "ignorance", I think closer scrutiny and oversight is needed to stop or at least minimize the fraud and abuse. You're happy to "throw more money at it" no matter how much it costs or how much abuse there is as long as you can "feel good" about helping the poor. I'm s**k of paying through the nose so people like you can "feel good".

The issue with Medicare...The Republicans were given the opportunity to go after the fraud which, granted is billions but they turned it down...they just wanted to cut back the benefits.

That is part of the plan to cut back on almost everything for the poor and working poor. They make their direction for (against) the country very obvious...bring it down.

You don't know me....as with your statement that you are paying for me to "feel good".

I'll tell you this....I am an atheist, however, I believe in the precepts of Jesus Christ in that he took care of the poor, the weak and the sick.

The Republican Congress aligned with the "religious right" prefer to take away from them and give to the rich. I feel that that is being a hypocrite.

Let us see what the Republican Congress has and is proposing:1.Cut back on food for those in need. 2. Cut back on M/M., 3. Privatize Soc. Sec. (profits go to the rich). 4. Cut out minimum wage. 5. Stop unemployment insurance. 6. No health care for about 40,000,000 people. And there is more that i can't think of.

Their aim is to bring the country to its' knees.....Did you ask why?.....Well let me tell you if you haven't noticed...
it is so that the president gets blamed for it.

Right now 9/20/2013 the Congress is threatening to close down the government unless it gets its' way. It is virtual extortion. They will close it down if the ACA is not repealed.

The country is not even in the picture...it comes in second to their primary mission....Barack Obama.
Let us see what the Republican Congress has and is... (show quote)

Ummm...the bill funds the entire government, even things strongly opposed by republicans. Except ACA because it will bankrupt the country. The government can't fix people. If people want to eat and feed their familys they should work. And don't tell me there's no work. An honest person with even a little drive can always find something to do for money. Society and generations of people living off other's labor is the problem. The democrats want to expand it even more so they have all the control. I don't want government controlling me. Do you? If you are able bodied and want to eat, find some work to do. And don't eve. start with the children because responsible parents don't have children they can't take care of. I've raised my kids to be productive members of society and ask no man for anything. Why should I Or my kids have to pay for yours? Law of nature: If you want to feed yourself andyour offspring work. Lions tigers and bears don't feed their young laying up on their fat ass while the squirrels collect and bring them food. I personally am tired of the democrats abusing the squirrels.

When is your audition because surely you feel strong enough about your policies to tell the country how to solve their problems.

You talk about work. Lets look at that for a second; there are about 20 million people out of work...do you think there are that many jobs out there now? What did you say?

You say "things strongly opposed by Republicans". Things that Rep's. were for before are against now because the Pres. is for them. They make it very clear....wh**ever he is for they are against. Is that coming to"common grounds"? It shows he tried to work with them.

Congress is the job maker not the president and they are not putting forth any bills to put people to work. Why? So they can blame the Pres. Who else...surely not the Rep's. that's your party and you can't be wrong.

OK! Lets look at your point of view. How much do you think a person SHOULD make to live? $10., 7.50, 5.00, 3.00 or should they have to crawl and beg for work?

Can you at least get realistic about that?

And what you suggest is for a person to get anything tor wh**ever it pays. That is exactly what the Republicans are pushing for, for the worker to lower the average wage
where he wouldn't even be able to buy a car let alone a house.

No minimum wage, no union for job security, no insurance, no pension, no vacation or sick leave.

Once the employer has full control we are dead as a democracy. You didn't work under those conditions why should anyone else because a political party has control.

You say you don't want government controlling you. Why? Are you more important then they?

Guess what? The Republican party is now in control not the president. They are d**gging the country down to hurt the president but they are also hurting everyone in the country including you and I.

Lions, tigers and bears were not obstructed by the Republicans in Congress.

You want to shove all the problems and blame on the Democrats because you are stuck there, plus, you can't stand to be wrong.

Imagine how many people could eat with the $500 million Obama pissed away on Solyndra?

This country is $17 Trillion in debt and growing at an unsustainable rate. Cutting spending has to begin somewhere or we follow the tax and spend liberals right over the fiscal cliff.

This President has not worked with Republicans. He has not signed ONE GOP authored bill. Not a one. Harry Reid is the problem. The GOP House has taken up far more legislation than the Senate. Reid simply does not bring it to the floor for a v**e. Did Bush work with Democrats? He sure did signing Ted Kennedy's No Child Left Behind. Paul Sarbanes Sarbanes Oxley among other Dem bills.

Liberal crap!! The SNAP program is one of the most abused and "bloated" programs the government has.

85% of the recipents of SNAP are children. Republicans in the house v**ed to take 40 Billion out of SNAP. Abused and bloated to feed kids? The most abused and bloated programs are corporate welfare to GE, Monsanto, or the overwhelming number of Fortune 500 companies that pay no taxes.

We currently borrow 40 cents on every dollar we spend. This is simply unsustainable. Cuts must be made.

I could not agree with you more. Jesus would have thrown these clowns out of the temple. When I hear someone is a "Christian" who cuts 40B out of SNAP, where 85% of the recipents are children, who cut taxes for billionaires and cut food from kids, I want to scream at their hypocrasy. We need more "least amoung us" Christians. I am not religious either, in no small part by looking at the so called religious people who want to keep someone from having an a******n, but at the same time cut job training, SNAP, education.

Actually there is not one case in which Jesus demanded ANYTHING of the ROMAN GOVT. He believed in charity not government redistribution. So please stop using Jesus to support your misguided positions.

So you raised it to 46 million...are there that many jobs available?

Why is it that you can't rebuke the other issues that I point out?

Going against the Pres. in every move...the job creators are Congress...'my President and party have failed.'...you blame the Dem.s for failure...what did I just say...it's the CONGRESS that creates jobs not the Pres.

You can't even challenge me on what I have pointed out.Why not? Because it is true and you can't be wrong...such a sacrilege...wow

You picked the right handle...Archie

Ahh so Clinton did not create 25 Million Jobs after all. It was Newt and the GOP Congress. Thanks for clarifying.
