There is the House and there is the Senate along with the President, they created this rot, and the people are leaving it up to them to correct it. I think not.

You're right about those programs, but I think the SS System is the worst. They are giving money away to people who never contributed into the system and they refuse or dole out a little bit to people who have contributed all their lives. Between the government taking it and people who don't deserve it, it's no wonder the money is gone.

In other words, the government couldn't administrate its way out of a wet paper bag - and we want to entrust them with our healthcare why?....

Farm subsidies and corporate tax incentives costs billions upon billions of dollars and we go to the poor house asking them not to eat to save a few dollars? Being well-aware of the weak state of the economy that many here remind us is Obama's fault, this bill is asking the victims of Obama's bad policies to pay even more than the jobs and houses lost. This is like the Republicans in the house saying to the millions of Americans suffering from this ongoing financial crisis, "Let them eat cake."

"Let's see if I have this clear...it is said that a mandate manifested without a caucus approval that conjoined our lunch into one jar...well then I need to know if it is constitutional?"

"Why was it necessary to put the peanut butter and jelly into one jar?"

"There was a complaint from one of the kitchen personnel ...he said it would save time by cutting the jar opening in half!"

"Well they have no idea what this action will cause if the Senate gets wind of it!"

"Have you any idea what effect this will have on our integration policy?"

"We need to set up a meeting with John and the kitchen staff right away."

"Yes Sir...I'll get on it right away...Oh! One more thing sir...they're now at issue with the bread...they want to equalize the sandwiches by making the same amount of pumpernickel and white bread because they say the rest of the brown bread is getting out dated."

"Well what about the rye bread?" "Oh! They say that it's borderline."

"That does it...I'm going to retire...set up a photo-op and I'll tell the nation...I want to spend more time with my family."

You are so wrong but you don't WANT to see it. Yes it is abused and that is all that you want to see. You are one of those that wear blinders.

So it is your position to close it off...well you are right in line with the Republicans in Congress wanting to cut $80 billion from the food stamp program. That should please you very much.

Do you understand the job situation out there and how people are hurting, or do you just focus on those that abuse the system. Tell us you have never c***ted on anything in your life.

Governments mandate to help those in need in times of need.

You need to turn up your mind and look at the big picture not just what comforts your ignorance.

You do not provide any back up to your claims.

"Money is gone"...I had to re-read that...where have you been...There is approximately $2.7,000,000,000,000. in Soc. Sec.,...that is $2.7 TRILLION if you didn't know.

What is it with you people...is it that you h**e to be WRONG?

You will eliminate any information because it doesn't fit in with your model...and you believe all the info you have in your gray matter is true and factual and that any other t***hs or facts are wrong...and that you will twist facts to better fit your preconceived notions.

Wake up or don't and close your drapes lock your doors and turn on Fox news....Comfortable?

The government still pays farmers not to plant crops! They also want corn grown, not to feed people, but so we can waste it with ethanol in our gas (which does nothing for the economy, clean air, or gas mileage.

I didn't say I wanted to "close it off"! Talk about "blinders" and "ignorance", I think closer scrutiny and oversight is needed to stop or at least minimize the fraud and abuse. You're happy to "throw more money at it" no matter how much it costs or how much abuse there is as long as you can "feel good" about helping the poor. I'm s**k of paying through the nose so people like you can "feel good".

I'm very comfortable, thank you. You apparently have no idea what goes on with SS and SSI, and you probably don't want to know. I've seen first hand what has happened to people that have paid into the system all their lives and can't get all or any of it back because the government says they don't "fit" the profile to receive it. I've heard politicians talk about how SS is an "entitlement", even though people have paid into it all their working lives. Wake up and smell the coffee!

Let us see what the Republican Congress has and is proposing:1.Cut back on food for those in need. 2. Cut back on M/M., 3. Privatize Soc. Sec. (profits go to the rich). 4. Cut out minimum wage. 5. Stop unemployment insurance. 6. No health care for about 40,000,000 people. And there is more that i can't think of.

Their aim is to bring the country to its' knees.....Did you ask why?.....Well let me tell you if you haven't noticed...
it is so that the president gets blamed for it.

Right now 9/20/2013 the Congress is threatening to close down the government unless it gets its' way. It is virtual extortion. They will close it down if the ACA is not repealed.

The country is not even in the picture...it comes in second to their primary mission....Barack Obama.

There are problems in many, if not all systems , laws, etc. and just because you have knowledge about something and I don't doesn't register that I don't want to know.

I have always been for the people and the whole of the country, granted a lot falls through the cracks. You don't throw out a bushel of apples because one is bad.

As for those with an issue with getting SS or SSI, there are many avenues where they can pursue their issue further and get a reward.

"Entitlement" is a Republican word just like money going to the poor is "socialism" and monies that go to the oil and drug industries is called "subsidies". So what's new?

I am awake and thanks for reminding me my cup needs a refill.
