Envy, rage and self-pity are such destructive emotions. These are the emotions you see mostly manifested in toddlers. A toddler sees another toddler with a toy and immediately envies the other and wants the toy. If they don't get it, they immediately fly into a temper tantrum which begins with rage and ends with self-pity.

About half of all children, by the time they reach young adulthood, have learned to control these emotions and replace them with more constructive ones. Envy is replaced with goals and a work-ethic. Rage is replaced with reason and self pity is replaced with aspirations and self-reliance.

The other half become Democrats.

I found no need to be on a boring topic hence going off topic.

An attempt at esoteric intellectualism fails to answer the question. How can the President of The United States of America, Harvard Law School Graduate as well as on Law Review and a Constitutional Law Professor make such an obviously glaring misstatement? It was a direct quote from his speech this evening.

Bomolester! The definition of a tax cut is to reduce the tax bill from the IRS. It should not require a rocket scientist to understand that citizens who earn substantial amounts of money pay more dollars to the government than people who earn smaller amounts.

A socialistic viewpoint is not acceptable by the majority in a democracy or a republic. The wealth of a “free Nation” should not be redistributed and called the “duty “ of the wealthy. The so-called wealthy deserve less criticism as their accomplishments and fortunes were usually amassed by their intelligence and hard work.

To spend valuable time and energy degrading the wealthy only leaves less time for one to achieve his own goals.

I feel that the poor or working class should get a break. They do. An intelligent look at the many luxuries and governmental funded perks allocated to the poor and low-income residents reveals who pays and who receives.

The thousands of social programs, scholarships, welfare. Medicaid, protective services, and the list goes on and on. describe the endless items available to the nonproductive inhabitants of our land. Yes, these are paid for by the wealthy, not the poor. At some future time, the wealthy may ask, “Give us a break.”

Jealousy is a very time-consuming waste of potential energy.

BoJester, it seems the only one confused here is you. Your post makes little if any sense. Furthermore, if you are going to label someone a 'rightwing nut' at least make sure that you know what one is. DHS has a 9 page definition, but the general public only has access to pages 3-5, go to their official website...

Of methods of armed robbery it is not only unfair, but targeted at those who can most ill afford to conceal their t***sactions from the grasping banditos of government bureaucracy. For the concept fails to explain how the government will enforce such thuggery, except on the honest and the simple. Of the former there are too few, and of the latter much revenues will be used to pay bureaucrats to help them obfuscate their t***sactions.

Interesting premise. Care to elaborate? As I understand it, a consumption based tax would replace, not supplement, things such as income taxes, and so-called "hidden taxes" contained in various sales taxes. I have not truly researched this yet, just sort of stuck my toes in the water, but it seems that this would replace a tax system that is wildly inaccurate with one that is simpler. I realixe there should also be provision made for imports, and goods actually purchased abroad and brought into this country. I find the concept intriguing, and while not perfect, it would certainly stop many forms of tax avoidance.

Good point. The flat tax is what I'd prefer, like what Steve Forbes came up with in 1996. A consumption tax does have it's advantages. YOU, the consumer, would have some, even if it's limited, control on how much tax you'll pay. Both systems would be a hell of a lot better than what we have now.

The article mentions that the top 1% earned 19% of the income, yet we know they pay over 80% of Uncle Sam's Budget for federal income tax. Cut that 80% aal the down to a 19% share and see what happens.
You are attempting to "obamanize a class war thru your constant BS".
Keep on keeping on-the more folks see your BS the more educated they become as to your h**e and jealousy.

I won't even bother to point out the discrepancies in Little BoJester Peep's diatribe, as they are obvious to anyone with a working brain. I will point out his reference site is al Jazeera, truly an icon of American reporting. He reminds me of the former owner of this network, Al Gore, who castigates people for their carbon footprints, while his own is greater in a week than the people he attacks will make in their entire lives. He is a hypocrite, a braggart, and a liar, albeit an effective one, as he finally managed to elicit a response from me.

I actually worked overseas and watched Al Jazeera often, along with the BBC. Sadly, I have to say that the journalist quality on BOTH AJ and BBC reminded me of what US journalism used to be-thoughful, precise, telling both sides of the story, not the jingoistic superficial "do you wear boxers or briefs?" sorry state of the US news reporting. Try it, you will be pleasantly surprised. We were in Egypt a year or so ago, and AJ was one of few stations in English. We watched a documentary on the US for profit prison system that was very informative, well done, well thought out, that made me homesick for what our new used to be.
