I guess you could say I benefited from a union in a way. I was a supervisor in a union controlled shop for two years and that was the length of time for me to draw all of my conclusions. Oh I also was an engineer and had to help set up machines in McCormick place in Chicago and some more wonderful interactions with unions. In the first one I left after two years because of total frustration of trying to supervise lazy individuals in so called sk**led trades that most individuals could come in off the street and do as well and quicker. I will not elaborate further on that except to say the union there would have been well served by firing a great number of its employees. The second at McCormick place in setting up our equipment for shows required a payment in advance and list of how many pieces of equipment we were bringing . The said payment was per machine and covered union supplied help in installing said equipment. This is where the union truly shines. If you want the riggers to bring in your equipment and place it on the floor there was a payment paid under the table or your machine would be the absolute last machine brought in. That was not only the case for the riggers but for every frigging aspect of having union help, electricians, pipe fitters, millwrights etc. If you ate in the cafeteria downstairs they treated you like they were doing you some great big favor just to wait on you. Yeh I've had experience with unions and I would be perfectly happy if I never had to deal with one again.

Talk about contradictory! Your city is run by Republicans, and they got the roads fixed, but you give barry the credit! No thanks on the unions offer--there never was a real need for them, and there sure isn't today. It's an employer market today--not an employee market. People are wising up-they realize with every union gain, the price of everything goes up, just to make union employees better off. Like I said, no thanks.

Good point. I did omit that juicy little tidbit. Everything Oilegal does is to get v**es. Gives to unions for v**es, amnesty for v**es, blocks oil and gas exploration for EPA v**es. As for the latter part of your post. It takes longer because of beer and pot breaks. By the way, I and my family will never buy anything made by GM. They can kiss my non union ass.

Greater faults than most?...You aren't familiar with very many other countries, are you? That was sort of a joke. Our national sin, the one I can see that surpasses most other countries, is that we have been given so much, and have been blessed so greatly, but we think we have done this all on our own. I took the time to look up this cities financial report -you may need a lesson in reading something like this - show me one city run by liberal Democrats that has a positive balance sheet like this one - scary how people with little knowledge and less education are so easily BS'd by the left's mental minders

i dont know where your looking but at the last meeting people where talking about more debt, being taken own,sewer system needing millions of upgrades,roads need millions,schools are full even though weve already footed the bill for 3 new ones now we need more thats millions more. we have a city propery tax we never had till this bunch took over,already talk of raising it after just one year,anyone thats wants to build here they let them,wasnt like this when the liberals run the city,it was a quiet friendly place,but i have little knowledge of where i live

Ford got a loan because they had no debt. They paid it back. Take it from this Michigander--many people who never bought Ford products before, are buying them now, because they refuse to purchase obamamotors cars. GM employees are the best customers for GM cars, because they own the company, after barry gave it to the UAW.

i think you better do a little more checking on ford,they got free money from the tax payers of this country,that does not have to be paid back,and thats what people said they will buy fords because they didnt take goverment money,remember the commericals,they took money they dont have to pay back and by the way i dont work for gm,but i buy them wouldnt buy a ford,they have sucker the american people thinking they took no money,just like the republicans sucker their sheep follers
