Dude, if he doesn't believe there's a God then he doesn't believe the Bible is the word of God or even true and thus he doesn't even relate to the notion of sin, much less ALL having sinned.

Doesn't matter what man thinks.

Sure, do you understand pedantically quoting scripture at an atheist means nothing to an atheist....?

I'm not the one who quoted it but still it doesn't matter.

Apparently, you need long winded explanations. I will extrapolate what my comments meant so that others will be perfectly clear what I'm talking about.

Atheists don't care what wisdom can be gained from the bible because they DON'T believe IN a Christian God, a Muslim God, Hindu God's a God or God's of any kind.

Whether we are all sinners matters not and interjects a lack sophistication on your part when "navigating" with a atheist.

Are we perfectly clear. Do you need analogies, some book titles by current atheists, some interesting humanities courses that you could pick up online? Or are we gonna go back and forth because you didn't bother to read my original question about...all in an effort to accomplish what: piss me off?

My original comments were directed in the form of a simple question to Armagudden, who I respect a lot. He's a great guy. My comments were not meant to offend him (or you, for that matter). He wasn't offended, why are you?

It was simply to point out that atheists are not interested in the Christian Community's constant comment about trying to guilt them back into the fold. Apparently, you aren't familiar with tough love. Let it go: they don't care, it might in fact be surprising to just ignore them going forward. I don't want to have a religious discussion or an awakening here. I live in a very diverse and secular community. I have these discussions, face to face with my wife. If you are going to bring up items such as this, and expect me to pat you on back for your clever remarks and retorts about atheists then you're wrong. I don't care and atheists care even less. Do you know how times I have to hear how ignorant and thoughtless Christians are...to many and I'm tired of it.

The church is clearly afraid of atheists, because they don't buy into the "Guilt or Shaming" marketing tactics. The church hasn't changed their tactics in a thousand years. It is sufficient to believe and if it isn't, than someone is trying to manipulate you.

Unlike you, I'll be succinct. God's ways trump man's and it doesn't matter what man thinks. I can't be more clear than that.

Not in the mind of an atheist, who doesn't think there is a God to be trumped by.

I tried being succinct with you, you aren't responding to what I'm saying. I'm not sure you're even having a conversation with me. Anyhow atheists don't care. Unless God causes every atheist's head to explode, there ain't a whole lot of "trumping" going on.

Sorry, I thought I was replying to you. So be it. They have free will.

No it's not. Only in your mind, being one of those believers in magic.

I'm no atheist and I love to rag on people believing the fairy tales.

You might get some huncky dorey feeling at some religious gathering but that's not the "magic" atheists or myself are referring to.

Having not experienced the "magic" does not make you an expert on debunking it. I am not talking about your misspelled "Huncky dorey feeling." I am talking about extraordinary events. There are probably many things in life you would deny having not experienced them. You should read Shakespeare in that regard, Horatio.

Mainstream Christianity both bores and irritates the heck out of me. I may have stepped foot for Sunday service in over 300 churches over my life and found one that seemed to follow Christ. Yet who am I to make such a claim? Just a limited human being like those in 299 churches. Comparing and criticizing and complaining is just vanity. An unctuous rubdown for an achy ego. God is very, very, very BIG. The heart is all that matters, the rest is fluff.

By that do you mean that there is nothing that is right OR wrong if you are an atheist, or that God's rules and love are of no concern if you are an atheist.?That God exists does not require that you believe in him. If I don't believe in Obama then does he cease to exist? IF so, the I don't believe in Obama

Atheists don't believe in a God, a Christian God, a Hindu God....etcetera...A belief in a God of any ilk is independent from right or wrong. They are heretics as far as the church is concerned, but hypothetically are hedonists. The church is framework for people who are born without empathy. I don't need rules to tell me that sapping someone's life or mistreating them in any way is "wrong", unless I'm a psychopathic asshole.

The rest of your argument implies that an Atheist can't love or be stopped from killing...

They aren't moral relativists...I've never understood this argument....they don't lack some kind of self control that a society sets up with or without God.

Why is it so enigmatic to believe in not believing? Isn't believing more enigmatic than belief. Faith has no rational wrapping except hope. Hope is a feeling that brings us comfort and if we include a prayer during those hopeful moments and things turn out fine we assume that we are witnessing a miracle. We don't return to the event and ask ourselves why we were shown mercy, until we are not shown mercy.

Whether you believe in Obama or not isn't any issue with belief accept, apparently God is so powerless that Obama keeps going...I guess if there was anything to shake one's faith: it is that man for you I guess. I am satisfied to know that he is a clown, apparently God likes to laugh and watch his flock squirm.

You're an Augustinian: aren't you?
