At no time have I ever said that I think you should not have a gun.

Bottom line if you feel safer at home I am all for you having a gun.

I agree that I could be in danger a some time. I take that risk because it is foremost in my mind that I trust the other person to be good.

This has served me well for 78 years & I am not too likely to change.

There are things about our government & the way thinks take place in the world. The problems can be corrected with out the use of guns.

What I feel is the problem is that if you wish to live by the gun & keep you guns just keep your mouth shut about it.

When people say what they will do with their guns it only in flames others to think the same way & leads to the mess of shooting that are going on.

I trust my fellow man to the point of allowing him to have the only shot.

If it comes to all hell breaking out I will ask if given the chance why a person would want to take my life in the face of no direct threat from me.

In a world of h**e only trust in others will save it.

I like your idea, but I have doubts about the outcome.

Hope your neighbor has some protection, anyway.

The nature of my business sometimes takes me into high crime areas. As an older person, it would seem silly to me not to have a gun. I truly wish I could feel the same as you about my fellow man. I believe a good offense is still the best defense.

When I consider the total lack of morality in this country, I feel safer with the gun. I am glad you have not been a victim of a violent crime, unfortunately most of us can not say the same. I have never had to use a gun against another human being and I pray I never do. However, I would to protect myself and my family.

The ISIS is a force that is being use to upset things.

A force that is meant too divide us.

By using the term us I mean the masses.

It may not be clear who really gains from all of this but it is clear that it is the masses that lose.

One must look at what the West & US has done through out history & see how the roles they played are being copied.

Wars are the biggest tools in keeping the masses unsettled.

Groups like ISIS take advantage of the mistakes made by others.

One should look at the actions taken in training troops to k**l.

Just who are those most guilty in seeing that arms have been left to fall in to hands of groups like ISIS.

I had the good fortune to be drafted in a time of relative peace.

If we as a Nation push for military involvement now we may need to bring back the draft & that would mean It will be our grandchildren who will be drafted or at least ask to fight the next war.

Make no mistake it will be more of those who have never been to war that will send our youth to fight a war that will only lead to death & k*****g for our grandchildren.

Just as in the past some thing questionable will happen to lead to war.

A war that will bring greater control over most & more wealth to the few.

Then after a few years of putting things back together again a new round of pushing for the next war.

Just remember that if you don't support the nation fully in this action you will be considered an enemy of the state.

I think I agree with some of what your "point" is but I have a hard time understanding it. In 78 years I would think you would have learned a bit of grammar & spelling or at least proof read what you said to see if you think anyone else can understand it. I don't mean to be harsh but it's just common sense to me. (I'm 77) 1) "I trust my fellow man to the point of allowing him to have the only shot"...what do you mean by that? 2) "In a world of h**e only trust in others will save it." what do you mean by that? You also say 3)"If it comes to all hell breaking out I will ask if given the chance why a person would want to take my life in the face of no direct threat from me." what do you really mean? I won't tear you apart any further but I get the gist of what you say is that you don't believe in guns for your self, but others may have that option. And you also indicate to me that you believe in "turning your cheek" which may be commendable...but in the real world today...don't trust that some maniac won't just go ahead & shoot you before you get a chance to either "turn your cheek" or try to "reason" with him or her...just saying & hope we are still friends..."THINGS THEY ARE A CHANGIN'"

Recently, after a late evening trip to wal-mart, I was returning to the parking lot when I noticed what appeared to be a young man kneeling down at the left front tire of my truck and working very quickly trying to remove the lug nuts on my tire. I circled around behind him and approached him from behind as I drew my legally owned and licensed weapon, holding it at my side and spoke these words in his ear. Now son, this truck belongs to me and as a 70 year old disabled veteran it is quite possibly the last one I will ever own and I need to keep it in one piece. Now I am highly trained and very proficient in the use of this weapon and the bullet that comes out of the end of it travels at over 2000 feet per second and there is not anything in this world that can outrun it including you. So I suggest very strongly that you move very slowly and deliberately and lay down your tools and slowly walk away, and I promise you that if you make a sudden move toward this old weak defenseless veteran that the undertaker will be wiping your ass. Strange thing, he got up without a word and backed away from me and left his tool bag containing my lugnuts and other hand tools and his lugwrench. Maybe I should have just called the police, NOT.

Did Ghandi get his message across. I think he did but there were those did not trust in the words Ghandi spoke.

I we never find the level of trust in each other that is needed for this to work it will mean that we wish to live in a world where mistrust is the rule.

All that is really need is to bring out the goodness that each of has with in our self.

I am not asking for your trust I am giving you my trust in you.

My trust in you is the only thing of real value that I can give you.

Your trust in me is the only thing of real value you can give me.

Let me say that I know full well that life can be very fleeting.
Here today gone tomorrow.

I don't dwell on the issue nor do I believe that there is some one out there wish's me personal harm.

I wake in the morning & feel that I have a good chance to make it through the day.

As I retire for the night I say a little prayer for a good nights rest & to wake in the morning refreshed & able to face what ever the new day brings.

Never to I lose sight of the fact that there may be more days left for me & to prepared to face the day after tomorrow.
