I can relate to that. I was finally able to forgive my son, after considerable soul searching, for enlisting in the Navy rather than my beloved Corps. Inasmuch as both are classified as 'Naval Service', I was able to do so. While I only served for 3 years, he served for 30. I have often wondered if that was because he wondered if it would take 30 years to equal my 3 years.

Oh that Florida hot spot? I was going to re-up after Hawaii and that was my choice in duty station to t***sfer to. They wanted to put me back on a Greyhound, those rat bastages and so, I got out instead.
The fact is, if you ever give a sailor that much shore leave, it's near impossible to get them floating ever again. On water anyway. :wink:
