I don't know how I missed this thread yesterday, but it definitely garnered my attention after stumbling upon it. I will put Mel's on my 'bucket list' for the near future.

So did the Marine Corps, and it is a known fact they never lie. They have only the best of the best.

No offense, but there are exceptions to that.

That is true. They do err on rare occasions. Lee H. Oswald immediately comes to mind. However, upon recognition, they are quick to rectify those errors.

You are known to share everything but food. That is a given.

Did I tell you the story of how my D.I. in boot camp knocked me on my tush after watching me eat so much at chow, yet didn't gain or lose a pound the whole time? I went into boot camp at 143 lbs., and left boot camp at 143 lbs. He simply could not get over it....it pi**ed him off.

I can see where it would tick him off. One of their favorite pastimes was making a boot slurp the remains of his chow if any was left on the tray.

Here's a true story you can appreciate, Salty.....

While in boot camp, my brother Ken sent me a postcard. The first line on his card stated, "That D.I. sounds like a real S.O.B. to me". Guess who received a call of 'front and center' at the day's mail-call :?:  The call was not to congratulate me.  A postcard :!:

Well, at least the D.I. was an observant S.O.B. An excellent quality for a Marine.

I can't find any fault either. Let's not put him on a pedestal....he might think he is 'special' or something! He is. We just don't have to let him know!!
Don't tell him I said that!!

I don't have to tell him, he is already aware of it, after all, he is a Marine. That makes him special in his own right.

During my entire time of illness, I have not had any nausea.....until reading this. :!: ...OOPS..that sound was me regurgitating what little food I have ingested.
