The excerpt from the movie with the song was included in my last reply pf. That Slim Pickens ride is almost the best part of the movie. I have been diagnosed as mentally perturbed so you may have another opinion.

Your role is still just a being a decent American who enjoys a seriously funny movie pf!

Nothing wrong with that.

My nephew returned from Cancún a few days ago and indicated you Golden Gophers got a pretty decent Spring snow. What doesn't k**l ya, right?

It's from the movie "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb".

Here watch, it's rather hysterical in a doomed to holy hell kind of way...

It's been quite awhile for me also. That Vera Lynn song is haunting though and used in many WWII films among others.

When anyone discusses nuclear weapons, my mind just leaps to Dr. Strangelove. The Cold War on comedic steroids.

WWII was over a decade away from my birth year and CA an entire world away and something I could only witness watching Annette Funicello & Frankie Avalon in Beach Blanket Bingo.

You lived during a remarkable time in our nation's history. I got bits, pieces and glimpses of it via my parents but, ahhhhh to have experienced any of that, WOW!

Just a recap on the state of the world.

The United States president is a radical Muslim Jew hating homosexual with a cross-dressing t***ssexual guy for our "First Lady", and who wants to buttfuck America.

The Mideast nations are becoming nuclear armed, and are at war with each other.

Radical, violent Islam is spreading in Africa and thousands are dying in the process. Christians are the main target, since all the Jews have already left.

Russia is aligning with China and India and threatening nuclear war on Western Europe and the United States (NATO).

China is threatening Japan. Russia is threatening Japan. Japan is threatening to make atomic bombs, which really means that they already have. After all, they bought tons of plutonium from Russia when the Soviet Union collapsed, and that was a long time ago.

Everything is steadily getting worse, more out of balance, more violent, and the violence is spreading.

That should pretty well cover it. Have a wonderful weekend, everybody.
Just a recap on the state of the world. br br The... (show quote)

On Japan, I seem to remember that JAPAN bought the stolen silent propeller technology from Israel, that the Mossad stole from US at MIT. And remember they had the largest submarine in WW2. Now I wonder.......2 +2= ?????

A Pacific mariner like me, isn't that great! I was more speaking about the times taken as a whole, music, culture and that sort of thing. War was a huge part but, by no means the fun part. It did illustrate what kind of men and women this nation is comprised of and, an example for every generation that followed!

Thanks bb, I appreciate your view on those times.
