http://www.factcheck.org/2015/03/ted-cruzs-p**********l-eligibility/

Is Ted Cruz eligible to run for president based on the fact he was born in Canada but his mother was American? Exactly what does the Constitution and our other laws say about this?
Sen. Ted Cruz announced on March 23 that he will seek the Republican nomination to be president of the United States in 2016. But, as some readers were quick to point out, Cruz wasn’t born in the U.S. His birth certificate shows he was born in Calgary, Alberta, on Dec. 22, 1970.

The U.S. Constitution requires a president to be a “natural born Citizen.”

Article II, Section 1: No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

You people have no problem putting a Muslim POS in office and supporting him not just one term, but two, and now want to scream Cruz doesn't qualify~~~~
righttttttttttttttttttttt~~~pffffttt

At least Cruz' records are open to all and not hidden~~~~Unlike the impostor sitting in OUR Oval office~~

The Republican senator from Texas says he can. And just to be sure, he’s taking the extra step of renouncing the Canadian citizenship he says he didn’t even know he had.

Cruz -- full name: Rafael Edward Cruz --was born in Canada in 1970 because his father was working for the oil industry there. The senator’s recently released birth certificate shows his mother was born in Delaware and his father was born in Cuba. The Cruz family left Canada a few years later. Cruz grew up in Texas and graduated from high school there, later attending Princeton University and Harvard Law School.

By virtue of his American-born mother, Cruz, 42, considers himself a natural born citizen and eligible to run for president.

So is he eligible? The vast majority of legal thought and arguments indicate he is.
The Constitution says any candidate for president must be 35 years of age, a resident within the United States for 14 years and a "natural born citizen."

We’ve looked at the question of natural born citizenship before. Back in 2008, people raised questions about the "natural born" citizenship status of both major party candidates.

<snip>

And finally, if that lying POS in office right now was "eligible" then any tom, dick and harry will be after him..
Vetting is a joke~~Another screw up when he was "put in office"............

     With you Archie~~ I like him very much, but he's a rebel to both parties and says it like it is and not how they want it....I doubt he'll pull the ticket, but am sure glad he's in the running......

They don't want true dedicated, commitment to the Constitution or Country after all..They want a yes man, not a leader..Cruz is not a yes man, but is a leader... I admire his in your face, tell it like it is and that is what keeps me interested in him..It will also be what keeps him out, I'm afraid..I pray I am wrong, I really do~~

And where are my manors, hello, always nice to see you~~~

Y'all do know that while Cruz was studying law at Harvard, he became the Ivy League Debating Champion. And, as the Texas Solicitor General, he argued 43 cases before SCOTUS.

As they say in Texas, Cruz couldn't pour piss out of his boot if the directions were written on the heel, much less be elected president.

Cruz's parents worked in the oil industry in Calgary, Canada, when he was born. His mother was born in Ottawa, Canada. His father was born in Cuba, but they later became U.S. residents. Cruz argues that because he had duel citizenship. That he is in fact, a "natural-born citizen."

Katyal and Clement conclude, "There are plenty of serious issues to debate in the upcoming p**********l e******n cycle. The less time spent dealing with specious objections to candidate eligibility, the better. Fortunately, the Constitution is refreshingly clear on these eligibility issues."
