The predictions that obamacare would cause a recession or that it would have less insured due to canceled insurance plans haven't come true. The one thing that is true, universal dislike although that is eroding according to this Fox poll:

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/02/12/fox-news-poll-will-obamacare-ultimately-be-good-thing-or-bad-thing/

Quote:
The number of Democrats who think ObamaCare will ultimately be a good thing (76 percent) is equally matched by the number of Republicans who say it will be bad (76 percent).

Meanwhile, a 52-percent majority wishes Obamacare had never passed and the 2009 system were still in place. Most Republicans (83 percent), a majority of independents (61 percent) and a handful of Democrats (21 percent) feel that way. ThatÂ’s down from a high of 55 percent (in February and June 2014).

Since Obama is committed to veto any ACA repeal, will the unpopularity of Obamacare continue to erode to the point were it is just accepted and seen as impossible to repeal without causing more problems? I think that may be a possibility. A better conservative strategy may be to offer tax incentives to those that do not get a subsidy. While it may strengthen Obamacare, it may likely be more popular than repeal by 2016.

A tax break for those who buy insurance without a subsidy would appeal to the conservatives without losing the v**e from those who benefit from Obamacare and may also allow the tax penalty from the mandate to be reversed.

Yep. The answer is always tax incentives. Where does that money come from?

The same conservative fact that tax cuts always increase revenue by allowing people to spend more causing business to hire more workers.

Sooo....it all needs to flow to, and from the government? Why not get the government out of it, and let the free market handle it? Obamacare is a redistribution scheme. Period.

Part of the problem is not necessarily the continuing and substantial increase in premiums, it is the drastic increase in deductibles. Quite frankly, I could never, without a major medical incident, meet the deductible. Basically, I am handing an insurance company money for the use of other policy holders.

Of course, it has to be managed by the government. Why do I have to keep reminding you you are to dumb to make these type of life and financial decisions? :?: ;) :D

Exactly! On the other hand; if something goes horribly wrong with my next pregnancy, I am covered. So it isn't all bad right?

The free market is doing much better with the mandate and subsidy. Without it, the free market collapses in a race to who and what can be excluded next to make it more marketable to the healthy payers.
