I think he is a good dog. I also think that the breed has been demonized because people have used them for their own pourposes, and not loved them as a family member.
Shame what humans do to animals....

Good example, when I was a kid, German Shepherd (Police Dogs) had a bad name, and then Dobermans, so its the owner not the dog... Don D.

My wife and I learned volumes about the psyche and psychology of canines form watching Cesar Millan's cable show.
Cesar Millan
Dog trainer
"Cesar Millan, is a Mexican American self-taught dog trainer. He is widely known for his television series
Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan, broadcast in more than eighty countries worldwide from 2004 to 2012.".
I never really understood how much energy good, bad or, indifferent we put off that dogs pick up on. One particular thing I learned, was that an indoor dog should greet your guests and be allowed to sniff and welcome them into your home before they come lumbering right in. I found that to be
very effective family and in-law repellent, because I could say my dog does not welcome you I do though, so I didn't hurt their itsy-bitsy to nonexistent feelings!
Many people wouldn't even step foot in my yard when my shepherd was out and, I made sure she was outside often!

I have an English Mastiff but he's a 240 pound pussy cat. But he looks mean and he IS very protective. He loves to go outside with the Grandkids and Great 'Grandkids. He plays with them and protects them too.
He was gonna eat my ex-son-in-law when he brought my Grandson over and reached down and rubbed the head of another Grandson. It's lucky I was outside there.

Howdy ab! Howz the whackiest guy no longer in the Navy doing these days?
I loved your guard dog pic, what a great looking girl!
This is the famous "Bob", well famous to me. He found a couple of baby possums and hauled them around for days until they died under suspicious circumstances.
The second pic was from my late dog that I recovered from one of those tobacco testing labs. We never could get him to kick the habit.
You believe me, right?
