I was watching the LadyHorn's game on television today when this was posted. Upon the game's completion, a good friend asked me to accompany him to an auction down the road a bit. We just arrived home this evening about 9:45.

Neither the coach, the umpires or the players could have heard my language, or feel the effects of objects being tossed about during the game, which we lost. The second game scheduled was cancelled due to the miserable weather. I have calmed down a bit, AuntiE. Thanks for your concerns. :hunf:

Boot, I am truly sorry you didn't get to see the game in person. I know how much it means to you, and to L. having you in the stands to see her play. I am glad you didn't attempt the drive with the weather being what it is.

Thanks, Salty. They should not have even attempted to play any games in this weather. The UT men's baseball team cancelled all their weekend games across the street from the UT softball field. Actually, they were scheduled to play San Diego.

The on field temperature was 31 degrees, with wind, & misty, icy rain in Austin. I am glad I get the Longhorn Network on Direct-TV. Lauren's family was in the stands and easily seen, due to the minimal crowd. I actually felt badly for them.

As I would. I also feel for the players having to play, under those conditions. That was a softball game, not football. Crazy football players will play in any type weather. Baseball uses a little more common sense in determining what kind of weather in which they will play.

I prefer to play in the sand at the beach. I abhor cold weather.

Ah! We have something in common. The climate is the ONLY reason I don't return to NY. Even as a child I was one who never liked to play in the snow. The best part about playing in the snow was coming in, sitting around the stove and putting your feet close to the oven.

I might add, AuntiE...This morning, upon viewing your avatar closely, it would appear that is 'Elliot' on a bad day, harboring anger issues.

Apologies to Salty and Elliot.

Alicia, I shared that same feeling of comfort and satisfaction when the kids and I settled in front of Dad's pot-bellied stove during the winters in the mountains of Northern New Mexico back at the old ranch.

Very. It is 70° in my apt and I am wearing a heavy sweater.

Turn up the heat. My heating bill is through the roof, but I spend very little cooling down the place.

Our, my, climatic conditions at the moment leave a bit to be desired. While it isn't freezing or snowing, the temp is presently in the mid 60's and our wonderful sunshine is in liquid form. Oh well, we are in dire need of its liquidity so it is for the best. Enjoy your Sunday.

I do use my heater. The dampness is what chills my poor old decrepit bones. I could care less about the heating bill, I use electric heat, as long as I am relatively comfortable. I rarely use my a.c. during the summer as I love the heat. When it becomes too warm for my kitties I will turn it on. In fact, I used it 4-5 times this past summer. I can handle 100° with no problem, but when it goes too far over I do tend to be somewhat uncomfortable.

Are you at all uncomfortable with AuntiE's new avatar :?: That cat looks like an evil twin to your Elliot. His markings are quite similar, but he seems a 'dark' image of Elliot...what with those sinister eyes.

I would have thought an average summer day in greater San Diego would be higher than 69, Alex. Is that really as hot as it gets...on the average, during the daytime? That is ideal :!:

I'm comfortable until 95. Fortunately, we seldom have days warmer than that. Sometimes in July and August we will have several hot days in a row.

Not at all. He is more akin to Botsford than Elliot. But then, it just may be how AuntiE is feeling at the present, after all, it is the first of March.
