I appreciate your point of view, but I too have served and had the "sjap in the face" from the other sides "free speech" advocates. my 221/2 years of military service, the blood shed for "other country's" thankless masses has given me a rare insight as to how American's are seen in the eyes of most of the rest of the world. We(American's) try to help the 3rd world country's into the 21st century and they piss all over us. America needs to first and foremost think of its own people first, then and only when invited help other country's of the world. if that means closing our borders, so be it! The time to, " bring us your hungry, your poor, your huddled masses", has long since ended. All the billions of dollars of foreign aid being given away to "thankless hordes" should stop and our own poor should be taken care of. America is NOT the world's Policeman.

This always bothered me about Obama, Crazyhorse: he is slow on the uptake of unfolding events. This has hurt him significantly as the recent "scandals" came to light. This could be a professorial demeanor or any number of less flattering things. Or it could be that being under constant assault about anything he does, he has become over-cautious.

In my eyes (what else?) his foreign policy has been consistent and remarkably free from the usual face-saving and expedient political maneuvers of most presidents. Syria, for example. How easy and beneficial to him for general acceptance to put "feet on the ground." Despite all the pressure, which any politician concerned about their "legacy" would yield to, he stayed fast.
