Before I even post the following....ALL YOU VETS... It is a paraphrase as I CANNOT remember the exact quote.

Banjo is that similar to the phrase our training gives the enemy the opportunity to give their life for their country.

Maximum opportunity.

For that matter, #4 shot is also a very good choice, especially if you have close neighbors. No practical difference in stopping power at normal defensive ranges, and less danger of excessive penetration. If you don't believe me, ask the FBI, and Gunsite, where many FBI agents go for advanced training.

thanks i'll keep that in mind, many years ago when i was still hunting #4 was used for geese I used #7 for pheasants and partridge they were easier to hit than rabbits but I usually used a 20 ga. not a 12 ga

Quid Pro Quo, alex: Kansas pheasants are tough. You have to use #5 shot to bring them down and then they will run half a mile with the heart h*****g out.

well you hunt in wheat stubble we hunt in corn fields so we use hounds if you use pointers they will stay on point until you tell him to get him in the mean time the pheasant is at the other end of the field while a hound won't bother with the formalities

For once, I have to remain silent, (No applause or sighs of relief, if you please), because I've never hunted anything with a 20 gauge, and always used a .22 for rabbits. I've never even owned a 20, except for a brief period, one I got on a trade. Unlike most, my first shotgun,(not the first I'd ever fired, the first I ever owned), was a 12. I'm one of those if it ain't broke, don't fix it types, I suppose.

Not too much silence considering the number of words following "remain silent".
