Could it be because you are a redneck, gun clinger?  :?:

Quid Pro Quo, AuntiE: Originally, redneck, was a liberal slur against farmers who have to work in the sun all day with the shirts on, leaving them with a red neck. Out here on the Kansas range, we very much appreciate farmers and rednecks, who literally feed the world, as without them a whole lot of liberals would starve to death. :D

Did you perceive I was being denigrating? If so, it was a misperception.

I do it with our confederate banjo as a joke. You do realize I am southern born and bred, correct?

As a point of interest, a maternal family member owned the last private dairy farm to supply milk to Washington, DC. His garden supplied vegetables to a total of six families. The original part of the house predated the Civil War. Not to be arrogant, the "lower" ten acres of the farm, after ceasing operation, was donated to the county where it was located. You may plan an event there; however, our family will get first priority in perpetuity. It is so peaceful with the creek, willow trees and other BIG shade trees. His neck and face were red and integrity was his standard.

Sorry...long rant.

Quid Pro Quo, AuntiE: Nope, I understand you and banjo. Just thought I would put out a little definition of redneck as most folks don't know what they are referring to, but just know it is a slur liberals use against conservatives and others they disagree with. It's a long chance I will ever get back to Washington D.C. again, but just a point of interest, does your little creek have trout. I like to dry fly fish for trout, but usually go west to the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming.

The bottom pic looks a lot like the Tetons, or thereabouts.

It is a very small creek. It is more a wet your feet type though even during dry times it will still have water meandering down.

Quid Pro Quo, banjo: It is in fact. See the caption. I fish the Snake River out of Jackson Hole and the North Platte out of Saratoga, Wyoming. Plus lots of other places and rivers, having been dry fly fishin since I was 17. That was more than a couple of years ago, I must admit.

Quid Pro Quo, AuntiE: Probably too warm to have trout. Might popper bug fish for a blue gill or two though. But it sounds like nice country.

Hello everyone, glad to be here. I am going to be 78 on july 14 (storm the bastille day) hopefully I have something to add or take away from the conversations, I am a mom of 2 girls and 2 boys, who are of coarse grown up now, lost my hubby of 51 years in 2010 and my oldest daughter in 1996, God bless them both. I do a lot of crafts, nothing is out of my realm of creation, knit a lot to keep my great grands happy ). Watch politics almost all the time to see what is happening here at home and abroad. Not happy with the political bull going on to distract us from the real issues. V**e in 2014 is my best message for all

Only 2 kids here, but 4 grandkids.
