It is not my job to provide you with the tools necessary for research as to where "44th Least Free State" derives. Every state is ranked on freedoms. It is yours to figure out how to find it. I managed all by myself with no assistance.

I am actually editing a thesis for a student as the numb nut writes it. I am editing an extended policy memo for a small business owner. I am trying to convince you to do your research. Geez, at least, I am going to have a lovely lunch out.

That's a non-starter auntiE , I know of no existing list , nr statistic , unless of course it is a totally subjective study . There are 50 states with books of laws which are too voluminous for you or anyone else to make such a determination . Last time I looked we have a standing Constitution where there is no differentiation between States in the Bill of Rights .

Florida is number 23 and is +5 points since the last up date. North Dakota is number 1 in freedoms. Not subjective at all. It is based on state laws.

As an aside, why do people wait until thirty-six hours before something major is due? It is not like this person has not known for five weeks this thesis was due. Not really , in fact I could have surmised that without any professor and without any research , just a list of populations of the States . The ones with the least populations would by COMMON SENSE have the least amount of laws on the books but only on the low end . Common sense auntiE , you can't buy it .
But even so , I STILL wouldn't consider it , a least free state , no more than I would consider the state that has a lower amount of mice would have a higher amount of cats .

This is a circus statistic . Whose got the DUMBEST PEOPLE ? The State with the least amount of schools ?

well Janelle , I'm sure it can be googled under a title like least free state , which is an extremely RELATIVE term. May I assume you're in college ?
Good . Now tell me , is there any state where your Constitutional freedoms are abridged ?
Of course wherever there are municipalities [cities , townships , counties etc. ] there are bound to be ordinances , zoning laws, building codes, etc . in addition to State Penal codes, by which all such entities in a given state are subject to . So the more of these entities in any given state , the more laws , ordinances etc. will be found , thus usually the larger population States are likely to have more of cities , townships , counties etc.

So the very statistic itself is highly subjective , as auntiE perceives these , or atleast accepts the determinations of others , that these are restrictions of freedom .
So what is the purpose of this statistic ? There are groups in this country who feel they should not be subject to any of these , thus there is no compunction to pay taxes , get a drivers license or a building permit .
If this statistic is truly a valid indicator of freedom in these United states , then what is auntiE doing in the 44th LEAST FREE STATE ? Should she move to a more " FREE-er "State ?

If I may , I will boil this down and express it in the parlance of our time ....IT'S ALL BULLSHEET .

She finally came back. She's doing editing on the paper. She doesn't grade. my professor will grade. She says thesis because the assignment said thesis. A paper is just a paper. This one's long. She's going to busy. I gave her name too two more people. I'm thinking the center adjust for population. Will have to research standards. At least I don't have to use my $s for dinner. She is going to feed me. I think maybe using curse words blogging is not good. I don't know. I"m not that old.
