He called Christianity one of the great :scourges" of history, and said of the Germans, "Let's be the only people who are immunized against this disease." He promised that "through the peasantry we shall be able to destroy Christianity." In fact, he blamed the Jews for inventing Christianity. HE also condemned Christianity for it's opposition to evolution.
Hitler reserved special scorn for the Christian values of e******y and compassion, which he identified with weakness. Hitler's leading advisers like Goebbles-Himmler- Heydrich and Bormann were atheists who h**ed religion and sought to eradicate it's influence in Germany..
The N**i stopped celebrating Christmas and the Hitler youth recited a prayer thanking the Fuhrer rather than God for their blessings.

Seems like Hitler didn't haven't much use for Christ.

Ah, Hitler's "Table Talk" the often misquoted quotes of Der Furher. "Christianity is an invention of sick brains: one could imagine nothing more senseless, nor any more indecent way of turning the idea of the Godhead into a mockery" (Stevens and Cameron's English, again matching Genoud's French verbatim).

But the original German says, "Christianity teaches 't***substantiation,' which is the maddest thing ever concocted by a human mind in its delusions, a mockery of all that is godly."

The difference in meaning here is radical, and again shows how Genoud (hence the Trevor-Roper t***slation) has distorted Hitler's criticism of one form of Christianity (which implies he believed there was a true Christianity) into a thoroughly anti-Christian sentiment."

I understand why Christians want to disavow Der Furher but the fact remains that Hitler he and his fellow N**i's represented what they believed to be "true Christianity" much like Christian Conservative's do today!

How did you attain such a lofty, even exalted, intelligence? Apparently your knowledge and insights exceed that of the Man who brought the Christian message into the world. An attempt to clarify a very important point about Christianity and Christians will, no doubt, prove futile in challenging the supreme spiritual authority of Saint PeterS, but here goes:

Roman pagans first coined the term "Christian". It was their slanderous pejorative to describe the followers of Christ Jesus. There is a vast difference between claiming to be a Christian and those of us who are Disciples of Christ.
